Circumstances of Disappearance
Anderson was last seen on February 15, 1993 in Eureka, CA. His boat sank outside of State Waters, about 10 miles from shore.
Officials received a signal from the emergency beacon aboard the Eureka-based fishing boat Admiral King about 07:30 a.m. Rescue teams found debris, including a life raft, wood, and the electronic radio indicator that sent out the emergency signal.

You just posted a news article from this year listing Roger as still being missing. As long as they are still publishing news articles about him and his case is open as a missing persons case, why would the thread be closed? This thread is not solely for the purpose of matching up the missing to the unidentified. This thread is here to remember the missing and for posting media updates, sleuthing the circumstances of his disappearance, etc. It is here for his family and friends if they should ever want to come comment and give more info. As it is there is very little info-- did anyone see him go out on the boat? Hear his voice over the radio? Was the rest of the shipwreck found? What caused the wreck? I can list many threads from more recent years where people were presumed lost at sea and yet we still discuss them and post updates.

Here is a little more information from his mother’s obituary. It was a family fishing business. Her late husband was a commercial fisherman. After he died:

[FONT=&amp]She was able to continue to run Byron’s commercial fishing boat, Admiral King, with her son Michael’s help and then her son Roger’s help. Unfortunately, the family tragically lost Roger, two crew men and the Admiral King in 1993.[/FONT]

My husband and I have a dear friend who has been a commercial fisherman out of Eureka for decades. I imagine he knew Roger and his Dad and brother. I’ve always hoped he will retire safely.

If the case can be solved... relatives always wait for some information or for him to be alive somewhere... of course it seems obvious that he drowned but that doesn't mean we should forget it... every person died like John Doe, a lost person deserves our respect. ...
