Is it at all possible HE killed the boy, and either told her he did it, or she found him, and just snapped and shot him? According to that article she was heard screaming "he killed my baby" just before he went back inside and she shot him.

I just have to wonder. I think it's quite possible but I guess it would be hard to prove?

The District Attorney’s Office announced late Thursday morning that Welch’s arraignment would not happen that afternoon and that the case, which is still being investigated, remains under review.

Under state law, Welch had to appear in front of a judge and be formally arraigned by the end of the day or be released from county jail. She was taken into custody late Friday and booked at the Las Colinas Detention Facility early Saturday morning.

Thanks. Delayed, as I expected. There's definitely reasons to question who actually killed Roland before moving forward on charges. She did make the call to report it. Yes, she may have shot bf in a state of shock after finding the little boy. She's been under observation, so I hope they continue to keep her under watch. She may be suicidal at this point - son's gone, she killed bf, and she's pregnant with his baby.

Not going to forget about this case though. I want to know who is responsible for this precious child ending up dead and being hidden in the freezer.

Update as reported by News8 tonight at 5 p.m., she is one of 14 inmates to be released from Las Colinas Jail tonight, or soon, but it could take some time. Wow. Autopsy results are expected in today concerning Roland's death. It's possible the current charges against her may be dropped, they reported, but I'm thinking she's going to have to be charged with shooting her boyfriend. Or no?

If LE finds Rick killed Roland, could her defense ask for her charges to be reduced to voluntary manslaughter? They could say Elaina killed Rick due to temporary insanity / crime of passion.

That's what I was thinking, too, reduced charges due to the circumstances.
I guess there's also a slight possibility that he shot himself, but I highly doubt that.
:thinking: However, one of them must've been threatening suicide.

Of course, I'm curious. That's my name. Now, I'm thinking her bf didn't commit suicide when he went back into the house because she was the one coming out with the gun. Curious!

Another MSM to add to the above:

"It looks to me like they at least have information such as they couldn't prove the case and they very well may think that she had nothing to do with it," said attorney Jan Ronis, who is not affiliated with the case.

Ronis added, "It's unusual that somebody gets release in a case of this nature, but it does happen and it looks to me like they just didn't have the case against her."

I can't find anything that states Roland's autopsy was completed yesterday. If it in fact was but they have sealed it, that may also have something to do with her being released. IDK? I guess we wait for more to come out. Also I see RW FB page has been removed, however RM's is still up.

OT: I don't have the "thanks" button showing even after multiple refreshes so thank you to those above who have passed along the MSM articles :)

To be perfectly honest, if I had access to a shotgun and found my BF had murdered my child, I'm not so sure I wouldn't do the same thing.

I don't really want to ask this but I've been wondering since we found out Roland was in the freezer.

Once a body thaws out, are they able to tell how long the body has been frozen for? If the can determine how long it's been since he died, does that mean how long since he died until he was frozen?

I'm afraid to google this, I don't want to see photos of frozen people.

I have felt since I read this case the boyfriend killed her child. I have seen pictures of her with that child and she loved him taking him to Disney and different places. I would also kill the boyfriend too if I found out he killed my child. I hope she will be exonerated of all charges if it is proven that this is the case.

Bumping for sweet little Roland. Nothing has been mentioned on the local news about his mother Elaina who had been released from custody a couple weeks ago. I managed to find a little something on MSM. Praying for justice for Roland...

It's heartbreaking to see all of these "3" with the babies on WS lately. 3 weeks old, 3 months old and 3 years old. When will the madness stop?


Welch was later released from jail with no charges filed. “The investigation into the deaths is continuing,” said Steve Walker of the District Attorney’s Office.

According to authorities, Welch allegedly killed her boyfriend, Monggiotti. “It's just a matter of determining what caused that or if there were any circumstances behind that," said Lt. John Maryon, a homicide supervisor with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. The county medical examiner is still trying to determine the cause of death of the little boy, and will release its findings in 30 to 90 days.

They released Roland's body for burial. Sometimes they don't when it's an ongoing investigation. Whatever the cause of death was and who caused it will remain a mystery for now. Yes, lots of sadness with Roland and the bf dead, and now the mother pregnant with bf's baby.

Roland was such a cute, bright little boy. It's heartbreaking.
