Circumstances of Recovery The decedent was an unidentified male of unknown age and residency. On 07/14/2024, a group of off-duty military personnel hiking along a trail in the Anza Borrego Desert State Park found the unresponsive decedent lying along the trail and called 911 to report their findings. San Diego Sheriff's deputies responded to the location and confirmed death without medical intervention due to the presence of decomposition.

The decedent was an unidentified male of unknown age and residency. On 07/14/2024, a group of off-duty military personnel hiking along a trail in the Anza Borrego Desert State Park found the unresponsive decedent lying along the trail and called 911 to report their findings. San Diego Sheriff's deputies responded to the location and confirmed the death without medical intervention.

This seems plausible. I don't have any stats for how long and far kidnappers take their victims, but to drive a 100 miles, 2 1/2 hours away, and to then hike with a body, seems like a lot of work for someone they just want to kill. Not only that, but the state park they went to is a desert, which makes hiking even more treacherous with a body. We never know though. People as we know are unpredictable so anything is in the cards.

Not only how far in/on the trail they were located but a trail name would also help as well. If they found the body not far from the trail head, then there is a good chance that the UID could be TL.

There are coordinates listed on the NAMUS page that seem to be hand-entered instead of autogenerated - here is where they show - right by the Mud Caves On S2 Turnoff, which seems to be a popular offroading area.
