Circumstances of Recovery The decedent is a currently unidentified Hispanic female, estimated to be in her 30s. On the afternoon of 10/19/1981 her body was found in a ravine by an undocumented individual who reported the finding later the same evening. She was found in a supine position buried in the sand with the feet protruding and the face partially covered with sand.

Ok, I googled. They also call any heavy duty elastic cord used for tyeing and securing luggage or used for hiking and outdoor activities a "bungee cord". Nothing to do with bungee jumping other than the name.

I'm wondering if a killer didn't use what they had on hand to bind the victim. However, it is coincidental that she was found in a ravine.
