Eric Glenn Owens

while we’re waiting to hear something hopefully, what do you guys think about this?? Even the hair is right

I think it's a very interesting suggestion. He went missing with his girlfriend Martha Wes Dunn, both endangered runaways. Could she be the 'Anna' mentioned. Eric and Martha were both heavily involved with drugs at the time they went missing; it's possible their disappearances were drug-related. However, there is no evidence of foul play, and police continue to believe they left of their own accord.

They were last seen together by a family friend in Durant, Oklahoma. Maybe they traveled to CA together afterwards.

Martha Wes Dunn – The Charley Project
Eric Glenn Owens – The Charley Project

The only thing that's bothering me is Eric Owens eye color. They are listed as brown, where John Doe's eyes are listed as blue. To be honest I still wonder about that.. IIRR the body was so decomposed that they had doubts about the sex in the beginning. How could they establish an eye color?

Yeah enough was similar that I thought the info that didn’t quite match up could have been due to guesses with decomposition. It said that this case was drug related and this couple was thought to be transient so, it’s interesting. I’ll update if she ever emails me back regarding the case submissions.

The age difference is the main thing I think makes Eric O. very unlikely. Even eye color could be misreported, but he'd have been in his later 20s in 1998.
We have seen age estimates be off before, though.

They replied that it’s been submitted and depending on what is found they may or may not make the possible identification or exclusion public.

That's an odd response, isn't it? Why would they not make an ID or exclusion public?

There was only one exclusion listed for Eric when carbuff posted less than 2 weeks ago. I wonder if they have a longer list of exclusions, or even an ID, that they're holding back for some reason?

I thought it was odd too until I thought about it. Some of the people who were previously listed as unidentified on namus who became identified had their case closed and it said solved but that the name was being withheld and maybe that’s a family decision? So either way I think we’d know whether the case had an update or not but there may be limited public information regarding the specifics.

In a case involving murder, information about identification or exclusions is sometimes withheld to avoid tipping off the probable murderer and giving them a chance to skip town, or otherwise jeopardizing the investigation. They might be pretty sure it's a match but have to run additional DNA or forensic testing to confirm it. Sometimes they have difficulty locating next of kin, though that doesn't sound like the case here.

I think I may have found Eric. He looks very similar and I can't account him on Facebook.

  • #109
Ive found several people who could be him - I need to do some more research

This Eric in particular is the only one I can see who has a ponytail. Also, he may have some sort of Hispanic ethnicity - not sure.

This is a different guy. He wasn’t on a missing person database. I’m not saying his name as of right now but I think I can get a photo in the morning.

The guy I found I can only account as being alive up to 1997. He’s from Florida but I don’t have much kore info about him.

Bumping.

I don't understand who could do such a thing. Technically, the people, adults, who actually stabbed him were killing a kid. And someone to just watch the whole scene unfold and then be proud/bragging about it. I mean, what animals.

I wonder if Eric's name is Eric Huckleberry? I believe he may have used the name "Huck" as an abbreviation. Also, I did read that Eric's driver's license was disposed of - so why can't someone say something. Kimberly Labore said she is a changed person, even though she stabbed a kid in the head and neck. If you are so changed, tell us who he is!!

Shes still in jail. I think someone decided she is a cruel person and denied her parole

Bumping for Eric. I have petitioned quite a few crime channels on YouTube with a large platform to get his story out there. A few are putting him in the queue which I very much hope to see. I’m local to this area and even around here nobody remembers the case or talks about it. Sometimes all a case needs is for the right person to catch wind of it or for interest to be reignited so here’s to hoping
