The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating missing adult Sarah Bourbeau.

If anyone has information regarding Bourbeau’s whereabouts, they are asked to contact the Kern County Sheriff’s Office at (661) 861-3110.

33-year-old Sarah Bourbeau was last seen by family four to five years ago, according to KCSO.

She is described as a White female, about 5'9" tall, 200 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Wow, this is a very long time! I wonder what happened here...

Wow 4 or 5 yrs?? Not much to go on here.

What cab make it take so long doe someone to be reported missing?

Dear Lord! They are going to have to give more info then that. Was she married/children/in the service/husband in the service/leave the state? IMO

This was my first thought as well. Very curious. Certainly makes you wonder what kind of relationship Sarah had with her family that it took 4 or 5 years for them to report her as missing.

Agreed, there's no information to go on so far except a photo and physical description.

Since the Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating we might presume she was last seen somewhere in the Bakersfield/Kern County area but there's nothing here that confirms that.

This is a strange case. Very unusual last name - although I did find a few with her last name who used to live in the area. I can't find any listing for her, ever, on Whitepages.com premium, which usually means she's never signed a lease or had utilities in her name. Seems like homeless shelters and encampments might be the first place to start a search.

Seriously? What ever happened to her that she wasn't in contact with anyone?

Seems like homeless shelters and encampments might be the first place to start a search.

Given the extended period of time since Sarah was last seen, I agree, the area homeless shelters would be a good place to start looking, especially since there are very few, if any, online records under her name.

Since her family and local LE have released so little information in this case, and it's been years since she was last heard from, there's no way of knowing whether she's still in that area.

General Thoughts

No social media presence? Odd for anyone anywhere, IMOO.

Any special needs? That could explain the lack of SM presence.

I guess It doesn't necessarily matter, but I was trying to think of possible reasons for the extremely delayed missing person report. I'm not suggesting that any of these apply to her. I'm just trying to brainstorm reasons in general a person might not be reported right away as missing. (My list is short. I didn't come up with much.)

- Former ward of the state/foster child who didn't develop any or many close or lasting ties
- Being a member of an insular community that discourages involving outsiders (i.e., gypsies. If that term is offensive, my apologies, as I am ignorant on what term to use. Some communal religious or spiritual groups.)
- Perhaps an only child whose parents passed.

My brain is in slo-mo today. Can anyone else think of other reasons? I sure hope LE provides more details.

So perhaps I've been reading too much AITA lately, but my very first thought was something happened between Sarah and her family that caused her to go no contact with them. The lack of social media would also be explained this way, as she wouldn't want her family to find her socials. HOWEVER, that doesn't explain why LE can't find her. I'd think a quick SSN search she'd be easy to locate if she had a drivers license or job or something.

Moo..she could be an immigrant. ?

There are at least three different people by that name on sites like LinkedIn. I don't think any of them could be her, however, unless she was from a different part of the country and the only CA connection was through family or something.

I found a record of someone by that name in Florida on Classmates who matches the age range.

On the online phone directory sites, the only listings for Sarah Bourbeau that align with the birthdate given are for the one originating from Florida. However, those listings have some aliases and roommates that don’t seem to align, so I’m hesitant to sleuth based on information in those. Some of the speculation on this thread might tie things together if there were a source for it, IMO. Of course, some of the other speculation on here contradicts all that, though.

If you search a sarah bourbeau (which is not that unusual in new england) who is from canoga Cali, is 33 and lives in Fort Lauderdale. Must be her, age is spot on. I just wonder if there were family issues that made a 27 year old stray from family and why the family is anonymous in there search for her. Seems a bit sad on their part.

Based on information officially released so far we know very little, basically nothing, about Sarah, her background, or her family situation.

A case like this naturally invites speculation since her family and local LE have released minimal information other than an old photo and a physical description.

Also interesting to note this is a fairly new MP case but Sarah was reported as last seen 4 or 5 years ago.

Most curious...

I see a twitter account for the spelling with the 'h' on sarah that hasn't been active since 2014 and looks more like a younger version of the missing person photo. Can anyone tell eye color from the color version of the windsong photo?
I know we can’t be specific, but look at the mole on our known photo of Sarah. I can’t find anyone on Twitter with blue eyes and the mole, but I might be missing the one you’re looking at… jmo

Is that a mole? I thought it was a piercing.
