it is less than a half hour and you can take 9 over the hill.
Oh, yeah. You could, too. I had a brain fart. I loved 9, but used 17 more often.

  • #122
it is faster, right now they are doing work on 9 and in a few places, its only one lane so other cars go then they are stopped then the other direction goes. but if it was at night it would be much less travelled, and easier maybe to dispose of a body? who knows.

Using the official reconstruction of this Jane Doe, I was tinkering around to see what she would look like colorized.

Normally, I don't like to alter the artwork of another artist. I have colorized several of the grey CT Scan recons that the NCMEC puts out, since they are basically just a representation of the bone structure with standard tissue depths and not a whole lot of artistic input. But I usually don't like to colorize or reconstruct those beige colored recons done by the FBI, because those reconstructions are created with much more artistic interpretation by the person who created them.

But nevertheless, I was colorizing the recon of this Jane Doe, and I decided to go ahead and do a complete reconstruction of this one using the facial structure depicted in the sculpture, and the woman's blouse, and my own interpretation of her look based on the structure shown in the official recon. The structural elements of her face are identical, just a different interpretation of her look

How do I do that??

Just contact the case manager listed on the Jane Doe's Namus page https://identifyus.org/en/cases/14683 (his name is Herman Leon). I suggest getting his email address as it'll be easier for you to put all of the relevant information into an email than over the phone. Then ideally you should also copy in the Turlock PD which is listed as the contact on Karissa's page http://www.missingkids.com/poster/NCMC/1170667/1 to cover your bases.

The information you should give them either way is:
- The main details from Jane Doe's Namus page (so the date she was found and her case number so they know which case you're talking about)
- Karissa's details - full name and anything else you know
- What makes you think they could be a match - like the geographical area that they were found/went missing, physical similarities (their size, the side by side pic that Tssiemer did above)
- What you know about Karissa's last movements - like what you told us a few posts back, that shows she may well have taken off on her own and could have been living 'on the run' for a while up to the date that Jane Doe was killed.

Try and keep it really straight to the point, use bullet points so it's easy for the officer to assess quickly.

Good luck, let us know how you go.

How do I do that??

It's not as scary as it seems. I was so scared my first time. But they are usually very appreciative of the info even if it's already been ruled out.

Homicide near Saratoga: FBI image shows ‘Jane Doe’ found off Highway 9 - By Mark Gomez - PUBLISHED: January 25, 2016 at 4:28 am | UPDATED: August 12, 2016 at 12:14 am

On Monday, the sheriff’s office released images of a what the female might have looked like. Investigators estimate she was between the ages of 15 and 24 when she died.

Her body was found on Dec. 14, 2014, in an area near Booker Creek Road. A driver who had pulled off the side of road in a turnout noticed what he thought were human remains and called the sheriff’s office.

“We’re hoping to get something from the public,” that helps identify the victim, said Sgt. James Jensen of the sheriff’s office.

The victim was wearing size 0 Just USA brand bluejeans; size medium pink panties; size 36A black Lily of France brand bra; and a size small blue floral print Ambiance Apparel brand blouse, according to the sheriff’s office. The sheriff’s office hopes someone may recognize the blouse, which is not common.

Based on a forensic anthropology examination by the Santa Clara County coroner’s office, the victim is estimated to have been between 4-foot-11 and 5-3 with a petite build, brown hair and “primarily of the Caucasian race.”

Authorities estimate she died after April 2014. This estimation is based on the manufacturing date of the blouse.

When she was found she was wearing size zero “Just USA” brand blue jeans, pink colored panties, a size 36A black colored “Lily of France” brand bra; and a size small blue floral print “Ambiance Apparel” brand blouse.

I think Samantha gonzalez AND karissa schell should be submitted. when I was a high schooler growing up in the central valley, my friends and I would go to santa cruz for fun. this area is right over the hill. hell, I recall going to santa cruz for a day trip then going over the hill to san jose to sneak into clubs. and gonzalez is purported to have a high risk lifestyle and those in that life are pretty transient so travel to this area from Oakland is nothing.

There is a post on the help me find Karissa Schell fb page from 13 September and in the comments there is a screen grab of an email from Dustin at Namus that indicates that Karissa would not be a match because they have her DNA, so while she's not listed as a rule out on the Namus page it seems like Namus view her as such?

I agree that Samantha Gonzalez should be submitted.
