Estimated Age: 14 - 22
Sex: Male

Hair Color: Unknown
Eye Color: Unknown

On July 17, 2003, the skeletal remains of an unidentified person were found in the rough terrain on the side of a mountain off Bouquet Canyon Road in Angeles National Forest, Saugus, California, approximately 1/4 mile south of Spunky Canyon Road. The conditions of the remains indicate the individual was deceased at least 1-3 years prior to discovery. The sex of the deceased was likely a male, however female cannot be excluded. The deceased was either white, Hispanic, or a white-Hispanic mixture, and appears to have been a young adult. Found with the remains was a white ceramic figurine of a female child. The reconstruction featured above is an artist's rendering of what the John Doe may have looked like.

Anyone with information should contact the Los Angeles County Coroner, reference case number 2003-05401.

I'm so confused as to why they only have 4 exclusions on him. I found 10 possibilites that all look like him and fit the timeline.

Okay, there are two who when compared against the poster, show a lot of potential:

I urge you to look at the age progressions as they make the features more obvious:

Erika Limon - missing since July, 1999 from Long Beach, 16y, 1h distance to the decedent

The sex of the deceased was likely a male, however female cannot be excluded.

Bumping up John Doe 2003's case.
I speculate he may have passed and his family placed him on the mountainside with the figurine, thus they are not out there wondering where he is. But that's just my guess - you never know. He could even be a victim. I hope there will be answers in his case. JMO.

Have any additional Rule-outs been added?

Looking at the recon this poor boy seems to have had delicate features. Especially the mouth stands out to me. Pondering on what the background story may be. How did he ended up there? Is known how this John Doe died? @Grungster Do you happen to know or can you find out? I agree with you @ChatteringBirds he might have been buried there by family and he is not in a missing person's database. He could have been an unregistered immigrant. So many possibilities. No clothing...or at least not mentioned that could give us a hunch. The little figurine could be a sign but also a red herring. I would love to know what kind of figurine it was. What would a young male do with a figurine like that? Could it be some kind of religious token? Or could this UID indeed be a girl....so many questions.

I came across this young man, but he went missing from Indiana. The mouth is what triggered me.

I took a look at the area in which they were found and it seems like a place where it would be only accessible if you drove. Maybe someone dumped him there or maybe he died at his own hand - maybe it was just an accident while hiking....we probably won't know until he is ID'd.

They've definitively ruled out Michael Negrete? That's unfortunate. It seemed like such a good fit, considering all the details. He's kind of one of my "pet cases," if you will.

Bumping case up. This young man is still listed in NamUs.
Rodolfo Ricardez

The profile in NamUs for Rodolfo is gone, so I assume we can rule him out.
