CA - School security guard beats & dumps wheelchair bound kid

Huh? Pretty sure cerebral palsy isn't a come and go kinda disability.

In any case, wheel chair, injury, spitting or being erect...not revelant, Marchell Ernest Mitchell beating on a student is not permissible nor excusable.

Cerebral palsy isn't a come and go kind of disability but it's not mutually exclusive. People with CP and many other disabilities may be able to walk short distances and yet need a wheelchair because they can't walk all day and everywhere they need to go.

Um hm. I certainly know people with CP who are completely ambulatory.

I just wonder why the guard made that comment if in fact, he doesn't usually walk. odd.

Right. I agree. Just as there are people all along the spectrum.

My point being, it's completely irrelevant.

The beat down is inexcusable and unjustifiable.

absolutely appalling !!!!

Omg!
I had read in one of the articles that the boy said he was assaulted in an elevator... It's worse than I imaged!
Kicked him in the head??? Wth?

what's worse about being assaulted in an elevator?

It may be irrelevant to the incident, but it's directly relevant to the reporting of it by the msm. The very same article says he has no use of his legs, while the statement by the guard suggests he usually does. jmo

Now, I can spend all day trying to guess why guard supposedly make the statements. But I think it's rather obvious student can't walk. He doesn't seem to be making any attempts to stand up when his chair is thrown to the ground.

How does the guard's statement prove that? All it implies to me is that the guard wanted to ensure that the victim couldn't walk for 2-3 weeks, not that the boy ever could, or that the security guard ever knew him.
The guys who beat up Giants fan Bryan Stow also claimed they only wanted to beat him up, not leave permanent injuries...

I dismissed the comment the guard made because I watched him violently attack a wheelchair bound student... twice.
Never once did I see the victim ...get up, kick, or tap dance.

As with the little boy that was assaulted by a teacher, and taken into the bathroom out of the view of the camera, this young man was taken behind doors/wall so that the camera did not capture everything that happened to him. The latest video shows that he was kicked in the head, hard, after being tossed out of his wheelchair into the wall. Then he was carried by both guards into the elevator where the camera did not capture what else was done to him. So what else happened? If the guard was willing to do all that he did when he knew that camera's were recording his actions, what did he do when he knew that the camera was not able to record him?

MOO

The video surveillance in schools is proving to be invaluable. Imagine if there was no objective witness to this assault...or the one on the little boy in the other case. I have no other words at this moment, but my anticipation is that the defense attorney will be doing the tap dancing...I am betting on a mental health defense.

for the record, the 17 year old admitted first spitting on the person who has been arrested. Spitting on someone is a crime - even if it isn't charged. Not sure what that means to the discussion, but the 17 year old has admitted that he committed assault first. Also, not sure why he was in handcuffs in the first place, but so far I haven't seen anyone dispute that that was appropriate either. And his peers are supporting the "guards" which says a lot imo. jmo

Do you have a link that says the boy admitted he spit first? That is inconsistent with the other MSM reports that have been linked here. The boy admitted he spit, because he had NO OTHER DEFENSE.

Salem

In response, the security officer handcuffed the student and continued to roll him toward class. At this point, the student turned around in his wheelchair and spat in the face of the [security officer]. http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/20...ir-dumping-him-on-floor-caught-on-tape-video/

There is also a video of the young man being interviewed where he explains it was "all he had."

My comment was based on the first articles. After that, they started saying it was unclear. But today, he spit first. This article doesn't say he admitted doing it first. But other articles say he admitted spitting. They've got all the video, so I'm sure it's been established what happened when by now.

From the link - BBM

School security guard Marchell Mitchell, 23, was dismissed by the school May 19 after he was caught on video beating Martinez after the student argued with the guard, slapped the guard's hand and spit on him.

eta: whenever you have students supporting the actions of school security, it's a safe bet there's way more to the story, imo.
