Yeah I have that one ep actually. When I write an entry I usually like to add something to the story. Something not always reported. So I usually delve into it as much as I can. Ill recheck some areas online and go from there. I still plan on doing the entry. Just unsure what direction to take. Thanks.

How about the Union Hall mentioned, other motorcycle enthusiasts, or other Air Force veterans?

As far as I can tell, the Tenderloin District is known for crime and prostitution. She then mentioned she was going Midwest with a woman. Possibly to do with prostitution and maybe why she was evasive with telling others what she was doing. What if she is the Jane Doe found in Highland Park, Michigan in February 1992. The only Unidentified victim of the serial killer Benjamin Atkins, aka 'The Woodward Corridor Killer'. It looks like she had dreads but if she cut them when she left California the 1.5" growth on the Doe sounds about right.

Ok. Seriously I'm speculating, a 2018 article just came up and her age is close..ish and circumstances are very similar Woman named Jane Doe for 4 years, caretakers search to find her identity
She does look similar. I wonder what happened for her to be a double amputee. She walked with a limp after the motorcycle crash but she still walked.

I see where it says no dentals are available but has there been DNA? Is there anyone still living to compare her to?

Its been almost 30 years, anything could of happened to become an amputee. This case has always bothered me since watching it on Unsolved Mysteries as a child.

I was looking at this UID found in IL in Jan. 2002. Selena would be 39 by this time, so age is within range.

Photo and recon are similar.

Jane Doe had the following (which is a lot more previous injuries than reported for Selena). Although, these could be consistent with prior accident injuries.

Healed fracture on distal left fibula (just above ankle). The fractured section of the fibula fused to the tibia. Healed fracture of nasal bones, left second rib, distal radius (wrist), and right manubrium (right-center of chest below the neck).

Details of Disappearance

Edon was in a vehicular accident in San Francisco, California in November 1989 and sustained serious injuries. She was in a coma for six weeks, she had significant memory loss, fluid built up around her brain, her left eye was permanently damaged, and her left thigh was crushed.

Two months after the accident, Edon moved in with her mother to recuperate. She improved physically, but mentally she seemed to deteriorate. She had many episodes of mental confusion and was extremely frustrated over the state of her health.

Edon returned to San Francisco in May 1990. She maintained regular telephone contact with her mother. In October 1991, Edon called her mother and was evasive during the conversation. Her mother asked her to come back and live with her, and Edon said her mother should worry if she didn't contact her again within a month or two.

Edon was last seen in a hospital in San Francisco on October 28, 1991. After her disappearance, a private investigator hired by her family uncovered possible sightings of Edon in the city's Tenderloin district. The sightings weren't confirmed, however.

Edon served in the Air Force and became a journeyman construction worker after her military service ended. She hasn't been heard from since October 1991. Her family believes she may not recall her identity.

Circumstances of Disappearance

Selena was last seen at a hospital in San Francisco, California on October 28, 1991.

After a brief stint in the Air Force, Selena became a journeyman construction worker in San Francisco. She joined the teamsters and bought herself a motorcycle.

On November 29, 1989, Selena Edon was driving home from the union hall in downtown San Francisco when she collided with a truck. She was admitted to the hospital as Jane Doe. Her I.D. papers had disappeared in the aftermath of the accident and seven days passed before her mother and brother were tracked down in San Diego. Selena was in a coma for six weeks and lost a significant amount of her memory. Selena’s left eye had been permanently damaged. She suffered painful headaches. Her left thigh was crushed and a severe head injury caused fluid to build up around her brain.

Two months after the accident, Selena moved to San Diego to live with her mother. She improved physically, but her mental recovery stalled, and Selena decided to return to San Francisco in May of 1990. Selena had been in the habit of calling her mother regularly. In October her mother last heard from her by phone. Selena appeared evasive, and told her mother not to worry if she didn't hear from her in a month or two. Selena’s family hired a private investigator to search for her. She was sighted in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District. The investigator followed up on all the leads, but never found her.
