GUILTY CA - Sgt. Jan, 24, & Quiana Pietrzak, 26, murdered, Winchester, 15 Oct 2008

I guess that response was supposed to be for Syra; my bad. Yes all the defendants are active duty Marines. And they could certainly purchase their own uniforms. But why purchase yourself when you can just take someone else's? But my personal guess is that it was taken as sort of a trophy. Or perhaps to prevent the Sgt from being buried in it?

Trial is progressing. The jury saw the interview videos where Tyrone Miller first denied any involvement, then finally admitted that they had gone there to beat up Pietrzak, admitting beating him, admitted "making them" tell him their PIN, writing on the walls, trying to start the fire, but denying that he was the shooter. But really, who pulled the trigger is irrelevant.

Interesting testimony. I wonder if the story about Pietrzak saying the promotion wouldnt happen is true and if so, why the promotion was being blocked. But its really irrelevent to the case. His testimony confirms they went there, forced their way in, beat the Sgt, assaulted the wife and killed them. The cold bloodedness of the murders really rules out the idea that the situation just got out of hand the couple "ended up dead."

It will be interesting to see how the two juries work. Will their verdicts be similar?

Thanks for the updates Joe. It has been very difficult to find much on this, even as the trial has unfolded. Mostly the smaller papers with some articles here and there, but thats about it.
I guess we will see what the juries do. I can't imagine they would be swayed too much by the defendants' point fingers at each other. I imagine they all knew exactly what they were doing and what would happen when the got in the car to go to the Pietrzak home that night.

This is absolutely horrific. I'm amazed it isn't splashed all over the media.

I wouldn't have known a thing about it, if I hadn't read it here. Any thoughts as to why it's seemingly being ignored/overlooked by the press?
