Found Deceased CA - Shane Rollman, 31, Camp Verde, 13 Sept 2020 *Car found in Rimrock, AZ*

I am a resident of the Verde Valley (not far from where the body was found a few days ago). On the Verde Independent FB page, there was an update about human remains found but nothing indicating or hinting it was Shane. However, local talk is that it was him which is so sad. The body was found not far from the rest area

How do they know it was heat stroke?

I have not heard a cause of death yet. Not sure how they would know it was heatstroke from a body left out in the elements since September.

I tried to monitor the searches when they were first looking for Shane. I was under the impression they searched the gravel pits but I could be wrong

Thanks! I wonder who found the body and how? Do they run cattle out there, or is it a mining operation?

Here’s a news report with updated information. It says they are pretty sure the body is Shane’s but they are waiting on dental records

Human remains found in Yavapai County identified as missing California man

REMAINS IDENTIFIED

Human remains found in north-central Arizona on New Year's Day have been identified as a missing man from California.

The Yavapai County Medical Examiner has confirmed the remains found on Jan. 1 near McGuireville are that of 31-year-old Shane Rollman, of West Covina, California.

Sheriff officials say Rollman's cause and manner of death are still undetermined.

Shane is a 31 y/o male with blue eyes and brown hair. He is 5'9 approx 190lbs. He was last seen in West covina CA Sept 12th. His vehicle was located Sept 23 at a rest stop near Rimrock AZ (McGuireville Rest Area). His family is now on scene and working with LE and SAR.

No, because if at any time it is determined that foul play was involved and there is an ongoing investigation, discussing any possible found evidence could tip off a perpetrator in the event they are following this discussion.

No, this pertains to California desert.
Not in Arizona.
