On behalf of the Board of Directors of Project Jason, I wish to extend to the family of friends of Sharon Santos our deepest sympathies.

It is clear that Sharon was loved and cherished by a great number of people. This reflects back on her and the love that she gave to others.

Although it is difficult to do so now through your tears, you will at some point be able to smile when you remember something about Sharon and the joy she brought into your life.

May you find comfort in the knowledge that this life is not our real life, and Sharon is now living the one that we are all meant for, the one which has a beauty no mere words can describe.

....and you will see her again.

I wonder if this case has any connection to the realtor, Julia Keller, whose body was found in her trunk as well. There was nothing missing from her residence and no sign of forced entry in her case either. They both lived in the LA area, the only difference is that Julia's car was driven to San Diego where she was found in the trunk and Sharon's body was found in Chinatown in the LA area. The similarities are disturbing to me...especially since I live so near to both locales. Neither woman is said to have any enemies, so this could be a serial killer on the loose.

I lived in an apartment in Burbank less than 1 block away from Sharon Santos's apartment. It is a fairly nice area and well lit. Does anyone know where the car was found? Very sad.

Just read your post that she was found in Chinatown. Obviously it wasn't a carjacking since they left the car.

BURBANK POLICE DEPARTMENT
OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

DATE: 2-17-05
TO: MEDIA
FROM: P.I.O. SGT. JAY JETTE
PHONE NUMBER: 818 238-3237

The Burbank Police Department Seeks your Help

Sharon Santos disappeared on August 17, 2004. Her body was discovered more than two weeks later near Chinatown, in the City of Los Angeles. Until now, there have been few leads to direct investigators to the person responsible for this terrible act. Recent information has led Detectives to view Eriberto "Eddie" Rodriguez as a person of interest in the murder of Sharon Santos.

On February 17, 2005, Burbank Police Detectives executed search warrants at four locations in Burbank and the Los Angeles area, seeking evidence that may link Eriberto Rodriguez to the disappearance and murder of Sharon Santos. Forty-three year old Eriberto Rodriguez of Los Angeles was arrested as a result of those search warrants. He was booked on charges of Residential Burglary, Sexual Battery, and being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Eriberto Rodriguez is a Registered Sex Offender who worked as a maintenance/repairman at 1555 Scott Road, the apartment complex where Sharon Santos lived.

During the service of the search warrants, Detectives seized numerous items of jewelry along with digital cameras and video recorders. Some of these items had been taken during a residential burglary at 1555 Scott Road in Burbank. The Burbank Police Department is asking all residents in the area to inventory their personal property, specifically: jewelry, video recorders, digital cameras, and other electronic devices. Please notify the Burbank Police Department if any items are missing.

Investigators are searching for anyone with additional information relating to Eriberto "Eddie" Rodriguez and/or his possible involvement in these cases. He is described as: Male Hispanic, 5'- 4" tall, 165 lbs, brown hair, and brown eyes. Anyone who has had contact with this man or feels they have been approached by him in a suspicious manner, is asked to call the Burbank Police Department.

Eriberto Rodriguez is currently being held at the Burbank City Jail in lieu of $1,000,000 bail. He will be arraigned at Burbank Superior Court on February 22, 2005.

A TIP-LINE has been established and anyone with information is urged to contact the Burbank Police Department at: (818) 238-3260.

'COVINA, Calif. (KABC) -- Two decades after the kidnapping and murder of a Burbank woman, her family is still holding out hope for justice, and they're as determined as ever to reopen her case and find her killer.'

'Sharon disappeared 20 years ago after leaving her job at Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank. She was later found dead in the trunk of her car in Chinatown.'

"In the 20 years that have transpired there is a host of new developments, technology and forensics-wise that we hope can be applied that we're hoping will bring new leads to the case," Santos said.''

''Before going to bed each night, Edna Santos utters reassuring words to a photo of her slain daughter, Sharon, and asks that she watch over her.
Her daughter’s half-clothed body was found inside the trunk of her abandoned car on a Chinatown street in September 2004, two weeks after the Warner Bros. financial analyst from Burbank vanished.''

''Nearly a decade has passed since a registered sex offender, who worked as the maintenance man in Sharon Anne Santos’ apartment complex, was identified by police as a person of interest in her strangulation. No one, however, has ever been charged in the 30-year-old Filipina-American’s death.''

''On the 20th anniversary of Santos’ murder, the family gathered on what would have been Santos’ 51st birthday to call on investigators to reopen the case and launch the “SHARE” initiative.

While SHARE was Santos’ nickname, it also stands for Support, Honor, Advocate, Raise Awareness, Engage.

The late Fil-Am's friends and family have also launched the Justice for Sharon Santos social media pages in hopes of sharing her story.

"For 20 years, we’ve waited for answers, for accountability, for justice," Sandra said. "We know that the time to act is now."

Friends and family are hopeful that advances in technology can help crack the case.''
