Sherri Papini &#8212; the California mom who mysteriously vanished in November before reappearing several weeks later after an alleged abduction &#8212; was previously reported to law enforcement by her family, according to documents that were newly obtained by the Sacramento Bee.

Papini&#8217;s mother, Loretta Graeff, alleged to authorities more than 13 years ago that Papini &#8220;had been harming herself and blaming the injuries on her,&#8221; the Bee reports, citing a December 2003 incident report from the Shasta County Sheriff&#8217;s Office in California.

It&#8217;s unclear if investigators found evidence Papini had hurt herself, according to the report cited by the paper. The report itself contains only two sentences.

The Bee describes Graeff as &#8220;ask[ing] for help with her daughter&#8221; when she called the sheriff&#8217;s office in 2003.

&#8220;Asked what happened, Shasta County sheriff&#8217;s Lt. Pat Kropholler said in an email that a deputy spoke with Graeff back in 2003 and gave her advice,&#8221; the Bee reports.

Papini&#8217;s sister also once called law enforcement about her, according to the Bee.

&#8220;In 2000, her sister, Sheila Koester, alleged her back door had been kicked in and she believed Papini was the suspect,&#8221; the paper reports.

However, &#8220;the reports provide no details about arrests,&#8221; according to the Bee. The sheriff&#8217;s office did not confirm to the paper if Papini had ever been charged in connection with her sister&#8217;s allegation.

PEOPLE has requested copies of the documents obtained by the Bee, which were released after multiple requests, but did not immediately receive them from authorities.

In a statement to ABC News via a spokeswoman, Papini family said the Sacramento Bee's reporting was "shameful."

"Sherri Papini and her family are the very recent victims of an extremely violent crime that has painfully and dramatically changed the course of their lives forever," the statement says. "It is shameful that a media outlet would intentionally exploit Sherri and (husband) Keith Papini and their young children's trauma for the sole purpose of clickbait and selling papers."

It adds: "This newspaper&#8217;s decision to aggressively seek out and publish unsubstantiated online activity and distort phone conversations from 16 years ago is victim-blaming at its most egregious. It is our hope that the media will honor their privacy as they work through this difficult time."

Police told the Sacramento Bee they still had no leads in the case, which some suspect was a hoax.

A 911 call log from 2003 recently released by California police reveal that the mother of Sherri Papini, the 34-year-old woman who went missing for three weeks in November after she claimed she was kidnapped while jogging, told police that her daughter was "harming herself and blaming it on [her.]"

A call log from the Shasta County Sheriff's Office dated Dec. 17, 2003, indicates that Papini's mother, Loretta Graeff, alleged that her then-21-year-old daughter had been harming herself and blaming it on her. The log, obtained by The Sacramento Bee and shared with ABC News, also states that Loretta Graeff wanted "advice" because her daughter was planning on moving back in with her.

Officials did find DNA from two people on Papini, Jackson said &#8212; a man and a woman. Jackson said the woman's DNA came from Papini's body, while the man's came from her clothes.

She was branded on her right shoulder and "appeared battered and bruised," but Jackson said there is no evidence to indicate Papini was sexually assaulted, and she said she was not. He she her bruises indicated Papini "had been physically assaulted multiple times over a period of time."

As for the brand, Jackson said the message is still unclear because of "obscure letters."

"The quality of the brand is poor," Jackson said.

Jackson also said Papini's hair was cut to shoulder-length. Officials initially said her hair was cut, but did not reveal to what length.

Papini said that right before she was released, the two captors were arguing and then she heard a gunshot, Jackson said. The younger of the women then escorted Papini out of a room and dumped her on the side of the road, Jackson said Papini told investigators.
