I found it strange that her sister spoke of her in past tense in this article. Probably nothing, but it stuck out to me.

http://www.nbcnews.com/feature/miss...fornia-mother-sherri-papini-last-seen-n679321

"She absolutely loved and adored her children and did anything for them," Sheila Koester, Sherri's sister, told Dateline NBC.

it is not a good indicator of anything, it happens all the time in cases where the people that do it (use past tense) turn out to be completely innocent of anything. it is just a fairly common way people speak in these circumstances.

I know we catch this from time to time. Is it usually a red herring?

I am someone who tends to fear the worst, and I think after X days I would have a hard time not beginning to brace myself for the worst (even though intellectually I know that would be impossible). But part of that would be assuming the loved one was dead. So I could see myself doing the past tense thing.

That said, can anyone remember other similar "slips" and their outcomes?

So the family is coming into defense of him now. Because they know what is being said and that there is a tide turning.

More importantly, LE is VERY aware of this also. They could stop the whole thing by publicly clearing him. Or they could say something like , " While NO ONE is cleared 100% at this time, we have NO REASON TO BELIEVE that Sherri's husband has any knowledge or any involvement in her disappearance.

LE has said that during other investigations..they need to say it now IF they can.

Have to disagree. I've definitely seen cases where LE sticks to "no one is cleared/everyone is a suspect" with no deviation right up to the point they arrest the (non family member) they had their eye on almost from the beginning.

I think sometimes it's to avoid spooking a possible perp, sometimes it's to avoid having to contradict their earlier statement.

There could be other reasons, of course.

Exactly ! If they feel he's in the clear ---say it so other people can be looked at.

Just to go back to the finances and her husbands now, I know someone who does that personally and the money isn't great. They also work along at least 99% of the time. I also believe they make their own schedules.

I guess it has been 6 days, sigh, so sad! That makes more sense to me why she was using past tense.

I've followed many missing persons cases here. So many missing women...I hope she is ok. Heartbreaking. After following so many cases, really there are only a few fates.

Ok, so it looks like the area the phone was found is unaddressed and possibly unassessed land. Without an address, we can't find out who owns it. No witness there.

How close is this to where the phone was found?
It could be an old friend.

I doubt I can l ink the site, honestly I am not even sure which one it was on. I got a scrren shot. It was a 360° view of where the phone was allegedly found.
I tried linking google maps, but my phone doesn't give that as an option.

It is hard for me to accept that she just left voluntarily, unless she was having a mental health crisis. I only say that because she grew up there and has a lot of friends and family surrounding her. If she needed to 'get away' from her home life, it seems she'd have friends or relatives who could take the babies and hide her out somewhere for awhile. jmo

Maybe we shouldn't be highlighting this in case it is a legitimate message for her from someone trying to help...
I'm not sure what you mean. This isn't a secret, it is on fb. I am positive the family and police are aware of this post.

Not sure either. Just was imagining maybe she needed/wanted to disappear and someone was trying to give her a place to get in touch without tipping off anybody. Just wondering. Wild speculation. That sort of thing. I was under the impression it was being taken down on fb and wondered why.

Only SM I could find is her Pinterest account.

I just went to Google and typed in Sherri papini Pinterest.

Holy crap. Her Pinterest has a board dedicated to guns, specifically concealed carry and garments designed to be worn when jogging. I wonder if she has a conceal carry permit. And if so, damn. What happened.

She also has a survivalist/prepper board. Very interesting.

I'll link them on the same post ...

At .13 seconds, there is an evidence photo. It would appear the husband did not move evidence, but left in place and called LE?

http://abcnews.go.com/US/husband-mi...erri-papini-thinks-abducted/story?id=43348426

I believe the interviews were done on the same day.

So what was the pink and black thing shown on the ground in the clip at .13 seconds? The colors of the cloth match the sweatshirt she was reportedly wearing...so is that part of it? Maybe a detachable hood? Doesn't looked like there are any ripped edges, etc... but there were only the phone and earbuds with hair mentioned anywhere I saw evidence discussed...

I was wondering what that was also.

Regarding the piece of fabric. I have a pink and black foldover waist band (not part of my pants, it's an accessory) that my phone tucks into and a zippered pocket for my house key. I carry a water bottle and a dog leash so no extra hands for my phone
