At the outset of Sherri's disappearance, the husband went immediately to an abduction scenario, right? Often in these cases, in my experience, some initial concern involves a non-abduction scenario... that the person is hurt/fallen, can't walk due to an injury, etc. I don't know if there are woods around there or if she ever walks "off trail"? If a loved one of mine didn't return from a run, my first thought would have been a possible injury/fall, breathing issue, etc. Those things happen all of the time. Looking back at when I was married, my ex would have gone with that type of concern first, not hopping straight to abduction. As to what I've seen thus far, no one has mentioned that possibility as part of initial thoughts. I don't know if I'm getting my thought across; I'm still exhausted from last night. Anyhow, all completely IMO without any incrimination.

For whatever reason, I didn't anticipate Sherri's disappearance dragging out this long. I felt resolution would be coming within the first few days of her disappearance, unlike my thoughts regarding Vanessa M., & Karina V.

Whatever the case, it's sure pulling at my heartstrings for myriad reasons.

Your wife is not home. Her car is in the drive. Your kids are not home as they should be. You find her phone discarded on the roadside and she is nowhere in sight. I don't think its a jump to think kidnapping in today's day and age.

I don't think it was strange for him to have thought "abduction!" straight off either, especially after what happened to her classmate (as has been mentioned in many posts prior).

Not having Facebook isn't that unusual ... some people do, but under an alias just so they can keep abreast of news, etc., but a lot of people just can't be bothered with it (myself included). She was certainly very open with her Pinterest account though - from looking through her boards I gather that she is someone with a wide range of interests and hobbies. There is one particular board, 'The end of the world?' which is interesting ... she strikes me as being someone who isn't just highly organised, but is well prepared too - and this could work in her favour!

She looks like such a lovely lady - I really hope she is found alive and well soon.

It may be that Keith Papini is acting in a way that may seem suspicious to the public (as we are not in the "inner circle") because, yes, he knows more than us all...in the sense that there may very well be an existing "threat" or "risk" to their everyday lives that makes him leery and jump to the conclusion of "abduction" instantly...especially, under the duress of this situation...

Maybe abduction wasn't his first thought. I believe he tried calling around first then found out that she hadn't picked the kids up from day care and wasn't answering her phone, so he used the "find my iphone" app to locate her. Maybe that was one of his first thoughts (that she had gotten hurt) when using that app to locate her. After finding her phone abandoned on the side of the road I don't think it was an unreasonable thought at all about her being abducted. Everyone paints a picture of her being a very devoted mother and I truly believe she is, from what those who are close to her say and even by looking at her pinterest. So many pins are dedicated to things about her children. I really feel she is not okay and the outcome from all of this is going to be very bad. I just hope her family gets some answers soon.

He could have used find my phone, because they are both tech oriented and do that all the time. Maybe he thought he would see she was visiting a neighbor or at a store, perhaps with a friend driving...but then he realizes it is down a road nearby, so he goes to have a look. imagine your shock finding your love ones phone thrown to the side of the road. panic would not even describe the feeling.

Its a ring with a panic button in it that sends an alert to all the people you've designated - and allows them to track your location in real-time - its still in funding mode, so not exactly sure when it will be available - but seems like it will be a great product.

Here's a shot from another video report that was shot where the phone was found. In this one, police can be seen about 100 feet up Sunrise Drive. (Source.)

I wonder if that's where the phone was actually found? That would be quite a ways from where the fanny pack was found, which is 500 feet away on Old Oregon Trail.

I don't get a "blatantly dishonest borderline psychopath crying pseudo tears Scott Peterson" vibe from Keith, but something does feel off to me about the situation. These comparisons are glaring to me ... they may mean absolutely nothing, but keep me in suspicion.


- Husbands came home to empty house, immediately said abduction.
- Dogs picked up no scent
- Sherri's phone was found on the side of the road where she was allegedly jogging. Laci's dog was found roaming the streets where she had allegedly been walking. Both are / were the only "evidence" found that placed the women away from the home. In Laci's case the dog was "planted" because he surmised that since Laci was outside walking and he was gone, then he wouldn't be under suspicion.
- In both cases, LE reluctance to call it an abduction.
- In both cases LE did not clear the husband.
- Both women's cars were in the driveway. If Sherri staged her disappearance or wanted to leave she could have taken the car.
- Both allegedly taken in broad daylight from their own neighborhoods with no witnesses.
- Eyewitnesses questionable. In both cases the women were not seen on camera footage.

80% of these disappearances are domestic / spouse related.

The alternative is that this woman was abducted. And that is horrific. The Lord knows we've far too many of those cases, as well.
20% of disappearances are stranger / stalker / non-relative

All I can say is that no one knows what goes on behind closed doors.

What is portrayed to others is one thing but who knows what's going on when that front door slams shut.

My father was an alcoholic drug abuser. Our lives on the other side of the door was a whole other deal. My mother was adamant that we keep it all a secret for appearances sake and we did. My parents are long gone and in general conversation with his friend I let it out what my father was really all about. He had no idea. What was portrayed to all was a lie. He was shocked beyond belief.

Im a family law attorney who deals wth child care costs or the lack thereof in separating families on a daily basis, as part of support calculations. I've never seen a SAHM or SAHD have their kids in daycare. Not once. Because childcare is super expensive and when one parent isn't working, the cost is prohibitive. In fact, that's the reason many parents decide one parent will stay home- because child care costs are so expensive they actually cancel out the second income in many cases. So it's not at all normal or common or more than extremely rare, IMO.

That being said, maybe she wasn't a full-time SAHM. Or maybe she just use childcare as a babysitter for a couple hours now and then when she needed to get things done. That's different.

Either way, I don't know how it's relevant to her disappearance. Are people suggesting she couldn't manage her kids or something and wanted to be away from them? Because by all immediate accounts, this woman lived for them and would never have left them. Nobody hesitated saying that.

Many rural communities have co-op daycare where parents pay with their time.

I'm thinking that last pic I posted, with the police 100 feet up Sunrise Drive, was just a roadblock to get info from people driving through. Not necessarily the phone's location.

Here's another cap from a news video. This one shows a couple of guy wires that would be attached to a telephone pole. It seems to match the wires for the pole at the corner of Sunrise Drive and Old Oregon Trail, if you adjust one of the covers, but I'm not sure it's a 100% match. Why would they show this spot? Strangeness.

I work for Best Buy, however I am in a store and not in the field. As far as I understand, phones are highly discouraged... I cannot be on mine at work unless I am looking up something for a customer. I'm sure they highly discourage taking them into the homes of clients, especially when the employee is supposed to be doing equipment installs. Part of the reason would be constant distraction, but even more, our policy against anything that would share anything about a customer's personal information, identity or home.

Thank you for your input. It's pretty believable to me. My husband is a fireman. When he's at work I text his phone at any time of the day knowing that when he's finally available he'll read it. He's not supposed to be messing around with his personal phone while out on calls.
