Does anyone know if media has reported if a rape kit was used after her release? By there being two Hispanic females perps, it is possible that one may not have been used. Just wondering if any confirmation on this. Seems lot a lot of description of her injuries but nothing on this.
So far not reported, I looked for that info right away

NEVER allow yourself to be taken to a 2nd location. If someone threatens you or has a weapon, you are better off running away, causing a scene...doing anything but complying with them to take you somewhere. Because the most harm that will likely befall you will occur wherever the perp takes you, which will be at their discretion and not to your advantage.

And somewhat off topic, but please also instill this in your children, and your brother's children, and your sister's children, etc.

I think the question is more about being able to accurately recall the timeframe of 2.5 hours vs 1.5 hours or 3 or 4 hours.

Maybe she saw a clock or the time on something. It didn't mention anything about her being blindfolded when she was abducted, or did it? (Reading along and I haven't read anything about it)

Maybe it was 2.5 hours before dark. So when the sun set, she knew it had been 2 and a half hours of driving?

I hope this is ok to post here, mods. And apologies if this theory and article has already been discussed or ruled out. Anyway.
I found this article from early November during the first week when she went missing:
http://kymkemp.com/2016/11/07/two-humboldt-women-help-search-for-young-mom-believed-by-family-to-be-abducted-near-redding/

Snipped from article and BBM:

I wonder, in reading between the lines whether the job they are referring to her having, was/is working stints as a picker for marijuana. I mean, it is Humboldt County after all and it would answer some questions that are buzzing around, clearing up some things. More importantly, it begs wonder if some sort of retaliation between workers could've stemmed from there and that's how her abductors know her??
IMHO, it'd be a plausible reason for her disappearance if some nefarious or unsavory things were going on under wraps in the groves and she was seen as as a threat to that.
Just thinking. I could be totally off base, though.
MOO, ETC.

She worked for AT&T according to her LinkedIN. IDK if that is the job that took her to Humbolt Co, however.

I didn't see the show. Did Gamble say anything about the reward money? Has that been completely withdrawn?

Anyone else have MORE questions than answers after watching?!?! And where is the sense of urgency on finding the perps!! Almost like oh well, that was a rough 3 weeks now on with life. WTF

If this does not suggest a sense of urgency, I don't know what does.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/sherri-pap...erious-disappearance-search/story?id=43930023

Bosenko said they followed up on more than 400 tips, none of which led them to Sherri. “The investigators had basically been working three weeks straight, nonstop -- pouring their heart and souls into this investigation. But so far, no viable leads,” said Bosenko.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...-mom-sherri-papini-addresses-rumors/94593338/

"We don't have information if this was a targeted abduction or if it was a random act," Bosenko said. His investigators "worked through the Thanksgiving holiday, including the weekend" to find the ones allegedly responsible for Papini's disappearance, Bosenko said. That includes continued reviews of surveillance footage and cellular tower information, he said.

The Major Crimes Unit continues to dedicate all available resources toward this investigation. Evidence item recovered at the Yolo County scene will be submitted to the California Department of Justice for physical examination and processing. Detectives have written additional search warrants for cell phone information and are receiving data as it becomes available.

So if this is true--how did she not see their faces?

Big sunglasses and baseball caps would render them hard to describe. And I doubt she was focused on making sure she could give an accurate description in the moments before she was abducted.

If anyone is feeling worried about being abducted...

IF someone in a vehicle stops and asks you for assistance or directions regardless of their gender... do *not* approach the vehicle -- stay at a safe distance.

IF someone brandishes a weapon, learn what to do / not do by talking to your police department. Take a self-defense class. Become informed. Learn to use and carry pepper spray.

Many years ago Oprah had on an expert and his advice was: NEVER allow yourself to be taken to a 2nd location. If someone threatens you or has a weapon, you are better off running away, causing a scene...doing anything but complying with them to take you somewhere. Because the most harm that will likely befall you will occur wherever the perp takes you, which will be at their discretion and not to your advantage.

Im not worried for myself. But I remain -unapologetically- curious how SP was abducted. All signs are she is a safety savvy lady, one tough mama as her Pinterest board said. Ah well someday we may know, or not.

Or maybe the radio was on in the vehicle?

I have no children or (alive) siblings, but it's something I share when the topic comes up. That particular short segment from the Oprah show is on YouTube. I encourage everyone to watch it!

And, here's a segment from Gavin DeBecker on Safety for Women:

"Based on information we have, there's no reason to believe this is not legitimate," Bosenko said. "Since speaking to Papini, based on information we've received, we believe her. We believe that this was an abduction."

Article goes on to say there is no department spokeswoman or public information officer.

Wonder if the reporter talked to someone he thought was a spokesperson?

This is what bothers me most about the 2020 show.

It was like this harrowing terrible tale and then has a happy ending and then "THE END"

How come no phone number to call with tips to catch who did this?

Where is the outrage at the perps?

I know for sure 2020 would think of adding a tip number so it almost seems like the show purposely omitted it for some reason.
There has to be a reason.

IIRC, the sheriff (last week) said Sherri only got a glimpse of their faces. I imagine the initial abduction happened quickly. She apparently spent some of the time with a hood over her head, so maybe they threw one over her head also at the point of abduction.

Gang symbols are considered messages.

Just my $0.02 from only tangentially following this case, but since she looks much younger than her real age, perhaps it was a kidnapping for sex-trafficking gone wrong. Or perhaps it was a gang retaliation but they picked up the wrong blonde girl by mistake.

It seems so obvious now that you posted it. You sir/madam are a true detective.

(Referring to KP saying Sherri needed quiet and dark)
Another possibility is headaches/migraines. Mine are triggered by a lot of things Sherri must have experienced over the past weeks, including lack of food, anxiety, exhaustion, crying... I have no idea why Sherri would prefer the dark vs. sunlight right now, but I know that when my head is about to explode, quiet and dark are my two best friends. JMO
Sorry to hear you suffer from migraines. I do too. Quiet, dark, and cool I'd what I need when an attack hits so that very well could be the case.

Let's be realistic about tips and tip lines. She can't describe them. In all honesty she may not be able to make a positive ID even if LE miraculously comes up with POIs. I am certain LE doesn't want thousands of tips about two random Hispanic women.

i get this, but it's pretty crazy for a Dateline, 48 Hours, or 20/20 episode like this to NOT include a tip line or website for a terrible and unsolved crime. They even do so for crimes that have been cold for decades, let alone crimes like this that happened a week or so ago.

But why not identify her? If she's a spokesperson, she wouldn't need to hide her identity.

Because she asked not be identified?
