Exactly. That sounds like a very NOISY scenario; and most probable on various occasions. No witnesses? puzzling

Maybe it was heard by people who had heard it before and thought nothing of it. Or people who pretended not to hear.

Should it be expected that Sherri be captured on video during her jog?

I don't know if Sherri was in the best condition to view videos of suspect vehicles right after she was released from her captors. JMO

Some of our neighbors have surveillance cameras on their homes. This is how we saw someone steal out Star Shower Christmas lights last year!

So would you say that these perps are a bit deluded? I'd say CG fits that description.

I'd say if it were that easy LE would already have this solved by now.

Y'all pray for gitana1 and her family. Her sister in law was in that Oakland fire and is still missing (as of this morning)

Oh, dear. Yes, MAJOR prayers!!! :ohdear:

That's my question. Why should it be assumed that there was video coverage of the route Sherri took on her jog. Unless she went by your neighbors camera we don't know do we.

Videos of people caught stealing Christmas decorations are creepier than I would have expected. You must have been freaked out.

Sorry about the lights. :(

What will we do when it is? I think I'm gonna need a nap.

After a well deserved break we can gang up and make noise to help with Stacey Smart's case. Her daughter surely could use the help. WS'ers rocks!

Bunch of scrooges! I must say that I do love those videos of people caught red-handed. Guess I'm easy to entertain. ;)

I just had a thought that maybe these two women perps, we're some sort of hired foot soliders. Maybe they do odd job deeds of this sort for some sort of gang or mafia. They certainly seemed to of had some sort of planning in this, which really leads us back to the why.

I do think there is a lot of info that we do not have, that would make all of this make some sort of sense.
I also have thought for a long time here that these women were "hired". I think that they did exactly what they were instructed to do. I think a message was delivered on Thanksgiving , and whomever it was intended for received it. I'm NOT sure if LE has figured anything out, or if they're hot on the trail.

I think that the Papinis are still terrified for their lives. I think SOMEONE in the family has a pretty good idea who might be behind it all.

What I don't think is traffickers. Huge business. They're not stupid enough to abduct mainstream, middle-class older moms that attract mad publicity. Nope. No way.

Is there a thread for Stacey Smart?

It's strange that not only was she not seen jogging on any footage the day she went missing, but when she was shown footage of vehicles in her neighborhood that day, she said that none were THE vehicle.
And the dogs never picked up her scent where it was assumed she was jogging.

Have we been instructed by the Mods not to speculate about the branding SP endured? The "message" is a huge clue! No symbols, said the Sheriff.
Do people think the 'message' is figurative or literal?

Most puzzling, from what I've read; sex traffickers do not abduct people from the streets and sell them to escort agencies, or on back page or whatnot. The victims are mostly lured in runaways and so-on.

Kidnapping someone for this purpose is just unheard of. It would just be to risky. If I'm wrong, point me to a case where it has happpened.
Agree. 100%

Maybe just dotting all the "i's" and crossing all the "t's", getting their ducks in a row, getting their eyebrows threaded before the big reveal....

Seriously, hope they're waiting on dna or other evidence to be processed.

I think those it was intended for know exactly what it means.

Had a couple thoughts wanted to throw out.

1-The thanksgiving early morning release is really a perfect time where nobody hardly would be on the road. The absolute best day is Christmas morning. The reason I know this is I once drive on Christmas morning to a friends house and it was like the day after an atomic bomb hit. There was not a sole on the roads. I suspect Thanksgiving morning would be similar but a little more crowded. At 4 AM it would have limited cars on the road.

2-Just wondering if the perps may have not intended to beat her or brand her and only really wanted to cut off her hair for a message. The bruises may have happened as she fought with them a lot and could the branding have been from some sort of restraint like a shock collar that kept going off as she fought to get away or something like that.

Its also possible the perps intentionally beat and branded her ruthlessly as they sounded really bad. Either way the perps caused all the damage.

Sorry about the lights. :(

The saddest thing was, they only took part of the light so what they stole wouldn't have worked anyway!

Homeowner surveillance also played a huge role in another MP case that is near and dear to my heart - Steven Koecher. He'll be missing 7 years next week. It hasn't helped to find him but it provided a good timeline and location.

Even my own in-laws have surveillance cameras on their home. As does my boss. It's a lot more common than most people realize.

Yep, Occam's Razor!

And it defies logic that anyone is driving around the rural roads of Redding hoping to find a random kidnap victim.

It's unlikely SP was randomly picked up.

AND if, as KP said, the only reason SP approached the vehicle was because they weren't men... wouldn't she have been just as wary that they weren't wearing masks?

Police have not been revealing the true narrative around her kidnapping.

Has it ever been determined where she was actually abducted? It hasn't been ruled out that she was taken from home, has it? I'm just curious.
