"Hanging victim found in tree; death in 1981?," Record Searchlight, May 14, 1984, pg 7.

A hiker looking for arrowheads found a skeleton hanging from an oak tree. Authorities believe the body had been there for about three years. The body was found off Dersch Road, south of Highway 44. The oak tree had grown around the rope, indicating that the hanging had happened a while ago. Authorities believed the hanging occurred sometime in spring.

Evidence indicated that the victim was transient. Along with the newspaper articles found in his bag, there were also cooking and eating utensils.

I wonder if these newspapers had consecutive articles on something that would pertain to the guy. It would be interesting if someone could find these specific papers and see if they have some article or story that is continued. Just a thought.
