I agree about the evidence being staged, but here is one reservation. Maybe the inside of the shed reeked like a giant cat litter box. Maybe Sierra worried about her purse and books absorbing that smell, so she had to leave them on the outside.

However we were told by LE that there was no scent found of Sierra by the dogs at that bag spot

Good points ; IDK why she quit cheerleading. And that raises another question : why the move to MH after school had started ? I know that Marlene had mentioned tat the move was for personal reasons, and I am not trying to sleuth. But, I did wonder if something had happened to Sierra in Fremont that made the family move ? People with kids in school will usually do a move before school starts...it makes me think this may have been a sudden move ?

I wonder how Sierra spent her summer, was she home each day in Fremont ?

I have noticed that previously in the reporting on this case, beginning with the items of clothing found. There was debate as to whether Cardoza had said anything about undergarments. The quotes, much like the one cited above, began with "Cardoza says..." rather than Cardoza says "..." It's something to keep in mind when reading, since the meaning is completely different. The first is someone paraphrasing what Cardoza said, and it is THAT PERSON being quoted. The second implies that the words within the quotation marks are a verbatim quote from Cardoza.

I thought of this a while back. I cant remembe if it was on the day she went missing, or a different day, but it looked as if based on her tweets, or the timeline, she was going to be late.

I also wondered if the bus driver could confirm whether SL took the bus EVERY single day? This to me, would be one of the most important clues, but I have never seen it stressed by LE of the media.

If she took the bus EVERY single day, then the day she went missing something very out of the ordinary happened.

But if she never took the bus on fridays, or once in a while she didn't take the bus, then the potential perp may have given her rides in the past.

I would think if it could have been established that SL took the bus every single day, then LE and the media would have made a point about this. I could be wrong with that assumption though.

That is a good point and raised a question in my mind. Are there other kids that go to sierra's school who live in the neighborhood? If so, maybe an older student with a license or someone with an older sibling that drives them around, saw her and gave her a ride.

The other thing I wanted to mention is regarding the sharks jersey. I have this impression that sometimes girls wear jersey's when they belong to a guy they are seeing, or if a guy they are interested in happens to like a particular team, they might wear it to impress them. It seemed like jerseys and sweatshirts are a big deal with these kids, and the sweatshirts she wore in some pictures looked way too big for her.
Might be insignificant, but I just wanted to get some feedback on the idea.

You wouldn't necessarily have to have a password to access some of those social media sites depending on the kind of phone you have.

I know on my iphone all I have to do is click on my facebook icon and it takes me directly to my news feed. If I don't specifically go in and log out of the site every time, then it does that.

The hoaxed tweet was sent from an iPhone.

OK... long shot here, but...

Sierra used to have an iTouch, but lost it. An iTouch is wifi capable, and can be used to post to twitter, facebook, etc. The posts, however, show up as being from a iPhone. The "mystery tweet" was sent "from iPhone." Is it possible that the person who found or took her iTouch back in February is the person who posted this? She would probably have had her login information saved, as you mentioned, so they would not need to know her email address and password to post.

Is the bolded portion of this statement true? I thought that members of the military and LE were also in the database. Particularly military, since what is recovered in war may not be enough to identify the person by other means. And this brings us back to the comments in the earliest threads about the perp potentially being current or former military.

Anyway, it could also they know whose DNA it is (if they have some and if they know) that it belongs to someone who has given it in this investigation. JMO

pensfan, I found that info - it was not a picture sierra sent, it is a photo of a photo taken *after* she was reported missing. I found it and then went thru all Sherman's self portraits for exif data, so I stand by my original statement. feel free to check back.

Ok. So the picture of Sierra in that shark sweater was taken after she was reported missing? it would have to be a picture of a picture then.. Right???

Wow I didn't realize how rural that area is. How was the bag found? Who found it?

Perhaps he attacked her in the car in this area and just left the bag before leaving the area all together. Mo seems so scary to find her bag there - can you get there by foot from her house?

Meh, they are teens. They get lots ideas but don't have the wisdom (brain development) to filter out the stupid ones. They're impulsive and they have a limited ability to foresee consequences.

BBM That thought has been on my mind. I haven't been reading on here consistently bc I've been busy and when I do get on my computer, it hasn't been cooperating. But, IIRC tracking dogs picked up SL's scent in the driveway. I was thinking someone from the neighborhood (perhaps the adult son of a neighbor), or an older student from her school whose route to school passes SL's house, stopped at the house and offered her a ride as she was leaving. Or, she may have planned a secret rendezvous with someone. This person may have gotten a wrong impression of SL from her SM and then something during their encounter went terribly wrong. I don't understand why her clothes and purse would be at a location where no scent of SL was found, but maybe the perp panicked and disposed of her body, but felt remorse afterwards and so wanted her belongings to be discovered.

No, she was the only person the bus picked up at that stop since December. LE interviewed her peers early on in the investigation, both at Fremont and Morgan Hill.

A lot of people like their sweatshirts and jerseys extra large fron what i have seen at Sharks games.

You may have missed the 2003 landmark case decided by an Appellate Judge in Florida in favor of Fox News that "the news" as a commodity does not have to be true, factual or even REAL.

All Networks, Cable Networks and print media hailed this as a freedom of speech issue for them.
I just think we took a giant step backwards to the days of Hearst Media and the yellow journalism of the turn of the 20th century.
They invented news stories as de riguer to sell newspapers.

Why do we think she left first thing in the morning? What evidence is there that she left for the bus stop at all?
So, the perp could have been in that home with Sierra most of the morning...

Yes, they should have. Again, while these are great dogs, they are not infallible just like every other tool. The LE on this have really worked hard at using all types of tools and techniques to cover all the bases.

The post of mine you refer to was in reference to a post about the false tweet that made such a brouhaha last night. It was my speculation on the motives for hacking Sierra's account.

Can't they tell based on the Pings of her cell what time IT left her home? Or are they not that precise?

Also, is there a way to disable the tracking ability of a phone? Like someone could have disabled the GPS and signal and then left the area with the phone, but then later decided to go throw it on the side of the road?
