There was an issue in March over urine. Some who were reporting thought the sheriffs said the clothing contained urine or urine residue. Others, who commented on this, thought the confusion grew out of the word "secreted". The books and bag were secreted (also long E) between the shed & the cactus. I've never been sure but I doubt urine was uttered because no other details from examining the clothes were shared.

The difference is that the accent is on the first syllable in the word the sheriff said, and on the second syllable in the other word. But in print, when reading what was said, someone confused the two and the rumor grew legs.

American Heritage Dictionary has both meanings of secrete pronounced the same identically~accent on syllable 2. That's also the way I have heard these words all my life. I can see that the way you pronounce to hide something would be less confusing though.

The only person to use the word "urine" was a reporter asking a question.

Here's the live presser and a transcript if you wish to view/read:

I think the urine was a rumour/leak that has nothing to do with the word secrete/d. The link to that word was just a theory. The reported would have got the idea to ask from somewhere. I think there's a good chance, especially since Cardoza added the additional description of "wetness" when saying he couldn't comment on it, that the clothes were wet with something.

"Wetness" could be urine, or semen, or *water* linked to one of the reservoirs/ponds they are searching?

Maybe it's just me, after being involved in soo many cases...this is truly feeling like a runaway case minus the amnesia. Or so I hope.

I so wish I could agree with you, but sadly I can't. I think LE have established this is an abduction. Further, 15 year olds don't do anything without telling their BFF, and one of those kids would have spilled the beans by now.

IF the bag was placed there after dark, the perp may have been afraid that there might be someone homeless (a migrant worker, for instance) sleeping in the shed.

I can't shake the feeling that the perp kept some of Sierra's personal effects as mementos, wasn't interested in the others and the shed was a good enough place to dispose of the bag.

I can't stop thinking about those pure bred siamese that were found by that shed. Then the purse and books. Do we know if there were any signs of anyone "camping" out there? I get this image (as much of a stretch as this is), of a homeless person finding the purse and books and taking them to where he keeps his "special things" like the cats, etc. As I said, a stretch, but who knows.

It rained the night of SL going poof on Friday regardless of what Sheriff Laurie Smith said on NG. The purse/books/clothes were found on Sunday. They would be "wet" from rain. :moo:

NM. Going to bed now. Night good folks of WS.

Yes, they did say that, cluciano and that they were doing interviews & re-interviews based on leads from the lab results.

Similar to the Kyron Horman case, I believe LE has a prime Suspect but needs to find Sierra to move forward with an arrest.

I remember reading Sierra's Twitter right after she vanished, and a theory did come to mind. Sierra is beautiful and seemed very popular, I wonder if maybe on her walk to the bus she got in a fight along the way with someone she knew? Does anyone know is there was any drama/feuding going on between Sierra and anyone in her group of friends or school? Was someone jealous of her? Picking on her at school? We all know what high school was like, what if someone was waiting for her that morning to confront her, and it all went south?
Another theory was a possible sex offender comes up, grabs her and pulls her in the car (eerily like Jaycee Dugard's case), but for some reason that other theory I have read about and thought about seems very probable.

I was doing some research and found this article, from 2006. I had known about the second case, but not the first one, which is the story of a 15 year-old teen abducted from her own driveway:

Teen Girls' Stories of Sex Trafficking in U.S.

Abducted From Her Own Driveway, Teen Says

Debbie's story is particularly chilling. One evening Debbie said she got a call from a casual friend, Bianca, who asked to stop by Debbie's house. Wearing a pair of Sponge Bob pajamas, Debbie went outside to meet Bianca, who drove up in a Cadillac with two older men, Mark and Matthew. After a few minutes of visiting, Bianca said they were going to leave.

"So I went and I started to go give her a hug," Debbie told "Primetime." "And that's when she pushed me in the car."

As they sped away from her house, Debbie said that one of the men told Bianca to tie her up and said he threatened to shoot Bianca if she didn't comply.

"She tied up my hands first, and then she put the tape over my mouth. And she put tape over my eyes," Debbie said. "While she was putting tape on me, Matthew told me if I screamed or acted stupid, he'd shoot me. So I just stayed quiet."

Prepare yourself for some pretty disturbing stuff when you read the rest of the article.

wow...! great news!

also another snip from your link:

The car is described as a red 90's four door Volkswagen Jetta with a black hood. Deputies were able to identify the car after combing through video surveillance but at this time they do not have a licence plate number.

Lab results were also able to determine that the empty handcuff box and used condoms that were found in the search area are not related to the case.

Well this shouldn't be too hard. The black hood is not optional. Ask around the wrecking yards for who bought a Jetta hood. Or look through accident records for accidents involving a Jetta with hood damage.

"Witnesses combined with investigative review of video surveillance sources have identified a vehicle similar to the make and model (photo at left) as being associated with Sierra's disappearance," according to the press release.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking the South County community to call the tip line with any information associated to the vehicle, which may assist detectives in their investigation.

"We are still awaiting additional lab results," according to the Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's Sgt. Jose Cardoza said car was seen at the time and place where the 15-year-old disappeared, the morning of March 16 near Palm and Dougherty avenues in unincorporated Morgan Hill. He added that surveillance cameras from buses and Morgan Hill businesses also spotted the car near where other evidence in the case was found.
"It's more than a coincidence," Cardoza said.
However, Cardoza stressed that Sierra was never seen riding inside the vehicle, for which investigators do not have a license plate number.

she could have also been pushed down or in the trunk... I truly hope this is the info that can bring her home and that people call in if they see/know this car

Sgt. Jose Cardoza said the image is not a "100 percent" match to the one spotted in some surveillance video -- and described by witnesses -- in regards to the 15-year-old Morgan Hill teen. But it's the closest car detectives could find to show the public in the hopes of drumming up any new information on Sierra

Cardoza said it took "weeks" of interviews and reviews of surveillance video to come up with this particular car.
