That image is different from the one on the news site linked?

The double picture with the top car having headlights on has red door handles.

Where did your picture come from?

Both pictures are shown on the SFGate (San Francisco Chronicle) website:

well geez... I am sure a public tip led to the car... they released it asking for help just about 24 hours ago...

:moo:

I also betcha they are talking to a lOT of people right now that are known associated to the car even if the car had been stolen previously, etc etc etc...

I bet they are very busy right now!

Hoping and praying that Sierra is found safe and sound

Authorities put out the alert on the vehicle Monday. By early Tuesday morning detective say they had received enough tips leading them to discover the vehile (sic).

oon after authorities announced the link between the vehicle and the LaMar case on Monday, posters suggesting a connection between Sierra’s disappearance and an attempted kidnapping in Walnut Creek on March 14 began to spread via social media.

With the March 14 incident, a man tried to lure a 13-year-old girl into his vehicle, which is described as a “red older model compact sedan.” However, a connection hasn’t been announced
(From Gilroy dispatch). Wow.. I bet its connected!

maybe the car is registered to someone she might have been friends with (online or otherwise) and that's why they think she might still be alive? Just a thought. Or maybe a friend of a friend of a friend (etc)... or maybe a female?

IMO, i don't think any of these things could be it (given all of the other information we know)... but just wanted to throw it out there as an option.

hmmm

There are 2 pictures at that link. Does it not look like one has red door handles and the other has black door handles?

What an amazing break!!! I thought the news headline was more media mucking up when it said it was found, was so excited to see they really have it. Fingers crossed for Sierra.

I think the handles are black in both photos.

It does, I can't figure that out...the wheels look the same but the door handles seem different...it doesn't appear to be the lighting...but who knows. :waitasec::waitasec::waitasec:

i agree, but we own a used car lot and how a picture is taken at different angles can make the color look different. we do a lot of sales on ebay and will sometimes get questions like that and it really has to do with the angle and how the sunlight hits the car.

i will add tho, that it looks like the rear passenger rim lip appears to match the other picture (and it also doesnt match the front rim). maybe its just all about the lighting.

Indeed. Personally I think it's a 99.9% chance it's the same car and that the lighting is making the handles look different. But, you never know - if the car was involved in Sierra's disappearance, maybe they switched out the door handles just to be "safe" re: evidence. I still think it's the lighting, but maybe the handles are different...I wouldn't be totally surprised.

one picture appears to be taken from an elevated area and the other more level. I really think it is the angles and light factor.

Walnut Creek intermediate school is 60miles from 18 Paquita Espana court.. but the LE say the red car was seen over and over on cameras in Morgan hill so I believe its likely he lives in that area or has to pass through that are to get to when he lives...not sure if the two are connected given the distance but anythings possible...praying that there really is something indicating shes alive and its not just the same old there's nothing indicating that she's not...

The wheels look the same, so maybe it is the angle that the photo was taken/lighting that make the handles different?

I am keeping my fingers crossed that this car belongs to a friend of Sierra and this is why LE has stated they still feel Sierra is alive.

I'm pretty sure that is it. When I'm doing 3D renders (I use programs that have very realistic rendering engines), similar effects happen all the time as I change angles/lighting. It happens most often with smooth surfaced, semi-reflective materials, traits that are consistent with a car door handle.
