Is it a spruce or a palm tree trunk?
Looks like a palm tree trunk.

That is definitely a palm tree trunk. I don't remember any at Target in Watsonville, though this Target thing could be nothing at all or completely unrelated.

On Tuesday the sheriff's office released video surveillance photos of the red Jetta with a black hood they're seeking tips about. A day before, they announced they had identified the car and put out a generic photo of the make and model, but gave no indication they were in possession of it.
Cardoza acknowledged that the Monday release could have given the impression that they were seeking the car, but remained tight-lipped about the discovery, including whether the find has spawned additional leads in the case. He would not say if investigators have talked to anyone connected with the car.

Was gang activity why Sierra was pulled out of her Fremont school and moved to Morgan Hill? ( I am associating burning and abandoned cars with gangs.)

Oh, I broke the link. I think this is more important than palm/blue spruce tree. Did LE already have the vehicle?
Interesting if I am reading this correct they had the car already and were looking for leads of sightings before or after her disappearance ?

At least that is their story.
Quite possibly...if the tweet is true, she did give the impression the car was found by LE weeks ago.
And then he says....
After two months without anything, it's significant that we got this car, and we're hoping it yields something major," said Sgt. Jose Cardoza of the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office.
That makes it sound like they just found it.
I am pretty sure they just found it. I know Cordoza's statements can be construed otherwise, and maybe LE did get the car over the weekend. Like I said before, they may have found it over the weekend, released it Monday as if they didn't have it just to see if the owner would come forward (especially if they haven't been able to locate him). It indicates guilt if they can't find him and he doesn't come forward, and at the same time puts others on the lookout if they happen to know who was driving it.
'Anything' to generate leads when you're at a dead end, as long as it doesn't put anyone else in harm's way.
All just theories and opinions, of course.
