I'm surprised that the shed hasn't been torn apart and checked forensically in more detail. It's been said that tracking dogs didn't show SL was at the shed, but no mention of HR dogs checking...
If the clothing in the Juicy bag is what she was wearing that day, (and now we know ML did go into the bag that mourning and might know if they are) then odds are IMO she was made to take them off in the shed.

We haven't been told definitively that the clothes found were or had been worn. I have a problem even thinking that those were the clothes she was wearing because it points to a sad ending, IMHO.

I'm still stymied by the 4 or so minutes from Sierra's last text to her disappearance. If LE has 80 images of the Jetta, then they must also have photos of the driver, getting in and out of the car even. There is technology available to enlarge and clean up the images. Surely, LE has someone in its sight. And why no more word about the car and what has been found in it? A week ago when the news was released it was the biggest break in the case, per MSM. Why can't LE even confirm that Sierra was or was not in the Jetta?

If the past 8 weeks are any indication of how this case has been kept in the forefront, then we should be hearing more soon, if nothing but to whet the public's interest. Or not. I dunno.

dog.gone-yeah if she has been inconsistent that would be significant. I am not sure if she has been inconsistent so much as just didn't think to mention every detail especially ones that would be routine. Like, her saying she didn't give Sierra money or left the money on the counter and then saying that she did put it in her purse would be more of a contradiction to me than her just saying she did in one interview and not mentioning it in the next.
I also believe LE said (at one point) that "other stuff you would expect" was found in the purse. To me, a five dollar bill (or a few dollars and some change-whatever) would be "other stuff you would expect" in addition to the books and clothes.

I may not know the full story though. I got busy for a few days and feel woefully "behind" in the case even when I skim over the last few pages. I just thought it was a little strange that the act of putting money in the purse at all was equal to her being an over-controlling monstrous mother to some. To me, it would be more controlling to have to put it directly in her hands every morning ha ha. But, that is probably a result of my own set of perspectives developed from my personal childhood and dynamic with my parents.

This latest junk with the lunch money just reinforces my impression that 'hinky' and the like are really just 'this person doesn't do things exactly like I do, and I don't like it'.

Seriously, most of the time when I see this kind of nit-picking criticism, it's because people just don't like the person in question.

Sad how we treat family members who are brave enough to go in front of the cameras over & over again for their loved ones, when they probably just feel like they want to curl up & die...

I'm another one here not finding the placing of money into the bag all that weird without knowing if it was actually unusual for them. If they are both getting ready in the morning, when Marlene is at her purse getting money out, Sierra may be in the shower or something - you just put the money where it needs to go rather than risk forgetting to offer it later or Sierra not picking it up. Especially for your kids because you don't want them to be without money and hungry. But it is very significant she handled the bag that morning, what did she see or not see? What would Danielle have to say about this, I find that a lot more interesting than my guesses! But then I am not sure Danielle had lived with Mom for awhile either to actually know??? Did she go straight to college from Steve's?

The reality is we have very scant information about that morning. No timeline for Rick, we don't know what time any one got up. Don't know what the people possibly living out the back did or didn't see, if they left home before or after Sierra. Basically for Marlene to say anything past 2 or 3 sentences is going to be new information, possibly relevant, possibly not.

Where it crossed over into "hinky" territory for me, is the fact that there were very few moments spent with Sierra that morning according to Marlene's statements.

Yet, in all the times, on NG at least 3 times, whenever the discussion of the bag came up she never mentioned the handling of and putting money in it, or seeing inside it until the AMW show.

Therefore, in my mind, it brings everything concerning that into question.

Of course, if Marlene had not put her true thoughts in her Mothers Day letter, there would be those who would find fault with her for that. She would be called dishonest, trying to portray their life together as a never-ending hug-fest or whatever. Yep, I agree with the poster above who pointed out that she's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't...

:seeya:

This is MOO and JMO ... but Marlene is NOT consistent with her responses ...

Regarding the "lunch money" : This is the FIRST TIME we are hearing from Marlene that SHE put "lunch money" in Sierra's handbag BEFORE she went to school on the day she went "missing" ...

The "lunch money" has NEVER been mentioned by Marlene before ... and what I would like to know is IF Marlene told LE about this "lunch money" she placed in the bag, when that bag was found by LE ? LE has "verified" the "neatly folded clothing" and the "school books" ... But nothing has been said about "money" being in the bag ...

Marlene has now made a statement on AMW that she put $$$$$ in the JC Handbag ...

Interesting ...

:moo::moo::moo:

Do we know if Marlene did or did not tell the LE about putting the money in Sierra's purse? No we don't we were not there when she was interviewed. Also I will bet you 10 to 1 there are a lot of other things Marlene has never told us or the public, what is the big freakin deal about the money ? I don't see what it matters , What matters is Sierra is missing

So...people b***h & moan that she needs to come out and tell us more about that morning (not that we need to know, we aren't LE), and when she does, people scream 'hinky, you never mentioned that before!'...what the frack?:banghead:

It just seems like another non issue blown out if proportion because theres nothing else to discuss. JMO

Thank you for your post, it's spot on!

Totally.

Last week she was the lazy mom who didn't know what her daughter was up to...

And now she's the controlling mom who dared put lunch money in her kid's purse.

So confuzzled....

I don't think posters need to be "scolded" for talking about the lunch money issue. It came up all of a sudden, and could make one wonder, did Mom see what else was in the purse, and are those things also missing, etc...and as with EVERY case, parenting habits somehow end up in the mix, i.e. "I do this" and "I used to do that". It just happens.

(I don't have kids, so not me, lol)

I don't think giving Sierra lunch money is odd....but the zipping of the purse seemed a bit so. Wouldn't Sierra still be needing to put things into her purse if Mom did this at 6am?

And can 15-yr olds go off-campus for lunch, anyway? They can't here.

?? What exactly did Marlene say?? I didn't watch AMW....

It came out that she put lunch money into Sierra's purse that morning and then zipped it up. (I did NOT see the show, so not sure if she said it in person, or if she questioned further about the purse.)

It's not the subject, it was the not so subtle innuendos that she brought it up to cover something up, supposedly she's evasive, lying, 'hinky', controlling, etc etc...many of the comments weren't really about the money, they were either about her character or beat around the bush accusations of complicity in Sierra's disappearance. Seriously, the targeting of that poor mother has been relentless, and IMO there is no logical basis for it. That's what set me off, not the more general discussion on the subject.

I recorded the show and just watched that portion again. I am paraphrasing here, not exact quotes, but ML says that it was a typical morning, pretty routine, I would be getting ready for work and before leaving I would say goodbye to Sierra. I would give her her lunch money and make sure it was in her purse and zip it up.

From there it was shown where the purse was found, where the cell phone was found. No further questions asked of Marlene about the purse. HTH

Color me confused, but why is the money thing a big deal?

Not sure it's a big deal, sarx, other than it has not been mentioned that it was found in the purse. IDK other than that. :waitasec:

Ahh, Ok. I have no doubt that there were several other items in the bag that weren't mentioned originally either.

I don't think it's a big deal at all, but someone commented earlier that it was odd that Marlene put lunch money in Sierra's purse and some of us were just saying that we didn't think that it was that odd.
