I think the 2009 assault is the one that got his DNA into CODIS, but was not prosecuted.

I think they just recently connected him to the 2009 cases if I understood them correctly

Wonder if they published the sketch to the public @ the time? Anyone who knew him had to have seen the resemblance . . . his wife? mother? neighbor? employer? This is as close as a photograph IMO.

Taser was involved in one incident, knife was involved in another incident. So we don't know which one might be connected to Sierra. Yet that is.

Absolutely! Looks like him except a little thinner but he could've easily gained some weight over the past year or even few months. All that guilt must have built up inside of him... then again this guy seems to show the least bit of remorse.

I have spoke wrong the entire case, so pardon me if I do some bad speculation yet again.
I can't help but wonder if "anyone" would do, could there be trafficking of some sort taking place?
He didn't have work, correct? How was he surviving, if he was?
Too many questions are coming out of todays pressers.

Knife that was used in the incident was the victims own knife that he used on her. She was retrieving it from the jockey box when he got into her car in the backseat and was able to open it with his thumb while she was holding it. He didn't bring it to the scene.

Public safety was reason he was taken into custody.

I guess a point to keep in mind on cases. Unfortunately there always will be more. Quiet doesn't always mean case is getting cold. LE just wants it quiet. So many times it does mean a case has gone cold. Perhaps remembering this one can give some hope.

Sierra's mother, Marlene, asked Garcia-Torres to reveal any information he has that could lead to Sierra.

The Safeway parking lot incidents are interesting if it was him that is linked to a previous assault there. I would like to know if Sierra and/or her mom ever shopped there? Maybe he was watching people in the parking lot, saw her, followed her home to see where she lived. Or maybe he saw her waiting for the bus.

I also am now thinking about those tweets from Sierra regarding the car outside her home. What if it was this Jetta and this guy was watching and waiting for her? Learned her schedule. Sierra seems pretty feisty and she seemed annoyed that there this car she kept seeing. What if that morning, she left for her walk to the bus stop and saw this guy outside her driveway and went up to the car to ask him what he was doing or what he wanted and then he just grabbed her?
