How in gods name did he intercept her from her doorstep to the bus stop? If he was a stranger how did he know her schedule? 7:15AM is super early to be out on the prowl. Maybe he had spotted her before at Safeway or the bustop?

I knew he would be married with kids and older. MO and he would be local.

Maybe he drove past her bus stop on the way to work each day and saw her there every day. That would be an easy way to know her schedule. Do we know where the suspect lived in relation to her home and if he might have passed by there regularly?

the clothing was instrumental in identifying the perp... his dna was on the clothing and it was placed into the system... they received the lab results on 28 march and since then they have had 24 hour surv. on him

Have Marlene, Rick, Steve and Danielle known all along? I know they kept saying they believed Sierra was alive, but lots of people felt they had knowledge that she was no longer alive.
ETA:
How did they match his DNA in MARCH when he wasn't in the system. They indicated that he provided DNA when they located the car and ID'd the owner...

that being said as I was watching the presser one of the reporters tweeting in the live tweet box asked about a 2009 assault... so that may be a year to look at fwiw

Are these 41 cases in 1 county and none have been found-Am I hearing this right?

I'm interested to see where the 41 or 43 missing cases information came from.

In the beginning of this case I tried to compile a list of missing, but ran into a problem because when they were found or came home because they ran away the resource I was using (missing children database) was not updated.

I found myself searching for news articles and looking at SM and found some of them.

I just want to mention this in case anyone goes to research this further.

It would be nice to know if LE had updated info on all of these they are claiming are missing.

Regarding being arrested at the Safeway and LE fear for another young girl being abducted.

Found this discussion on another forum (don't know if I'm allowed to say which one). It is a link to 3 other attempted assaults in the Safeway parking lots in 2009. Sounds like the 3 that LE disclosed today. Note the sketch and read the article.

So if this is him, no wonder they made the arrest when he was at Safeway.

I believe they said one victim had a knife that he took away & tried to use on her but still she got away..Did he ever actually taze the other victim? That wasn't clear..The one that locked her car doors was an easy escape.

Maybe they were older &/or wiser then Sierra? So many victims believe if they go along with the attacker they'll end up OK & that's so rare..I wish all victims would realize this!

I still don't get WHY he was not charged in ANY of these other cases!

Yes, she did mentioned one where a tazer was used and I wonder if that is the one that he is connected to. I wonder if the other girls have been shown his photo by now? SS said some of these attacks werent completed as if she is suggesting the motive was sexual assaults and the victims got away.

They should go back and try to find anyone who may have seen him or his Jetta during the times any of these other kids went missing.

Just an aside . . . years ago in a small city women were getting obscene phone calls describing what they were wearing at the time. Much later, LE found out that the common denominator was they had all shopped at a local grocery store and had written checks for their purchases. Turned out the perp was the cashier who took their checks, wrote down their phone numbers and addresses and what they were wearing when they went thru his line. He would later call them and freak them out! Wonder if this guy did something similar? Now most people pay with debit cards so not necessarily as easy to obtain that info . . .but it just sparked a memory with me. There have been conflicting reports as to whether he worked at the safeway or not. I do know that if you don't have your safeway card you can give your phone number to get the card discount. I don't know that he ever had her phone number or anything that I have just said is even related to this case - just something to ponder.

The fact that they found the clothes she was wearing that day in her bag is just so scary. He stashed it there maybe with the intent to go back and go through it. MO
I always felt the bag was placed there for safe keeping like he wanted to keep it. Wherever she is she is naked - I hope they find her.

He was in the CODIS system. Previous assault charge but no conviction put his DNA in the system.

He was arrested before but not convicted. California has passed the DNA Saves law so his DNA was taken and entered into the system.

If 2009 is correct that would make the suspect 18 or possibly 17 yrs old at the time..How many 'teens' actually commit this type of crime I wonder..And again, when did they make this connection I want to know!

That would be interesting to know. SS was reading the information so she had to get it from somewhere.

These 41 or 43 children seem to still be missing from the way SS stated it in the PC.
