Not sure but possibly the Juicy bag found served as her bookbag. It had books in it,so maybe that was it.

Maybe, but I would think unlikely. I missed where it was stated that books were found in the purse. I have a highschooler and the homework load is more than a purse full, so it just seems odd not to have a bookbag.

Thinking aloud...

I haven't heard anything about a bookbag? Anyone know anything? If she was on her way to school I would think there would be a bookbag, maybe not recovered yet?

I'm under the impression that she carried her books in her arms. IIRC, her bus driver mentioned that Sierra was always smiling with her books in her arms.

I think Marlene said Sierra carried her pens and pencils in her purse and her books separately on Nancy Grace, but I have a hard time deciphering what she says most of the time.

The books themselves were found in a place they shouldn't have been.

Old video from the Today show. 1:04 mark ... Sheriff talks about her Juicy bag "it was her school books......"
msnbc.com Video Player

Mom says she didn't carry a back pack and about her books:
LAMAR: I would see her carrying some things when, you know -- you know, when she would return from school, I would see her carrying the bag and I would see her carrying the notebook and her school books separately. But then she also put things in her bag, as well, that would fit in there.

GRACE: So she used it kind of like a backpack sometimes?

LAMAR: She would just put it on her shoulder because it was a good -- medium-sized purse.

GRACE: Did she also carry a backpack for her school books?

LAMAR: No. No. No.

Thank you, I love reading the facts! The stories and opinions here and there are interesting, but the facts are what I'm focusing on. I didn't catch the whole bit about books found or being stored in her purse, school books or novels? Could you elaborate as to what you meant by,The books themselves were found in a place they shouldn't have been.[/QUOTE]

Ugh. KRON's quote made it seem like Marlene made a direct plea and was convinced that Sierra is alive and being held against her will, but after watching her on the video, it seemed like she wasn't sure.

Media reports are going to make me rip my hair out!

I'm certainly no fan of MSM reporting; however, it is possible that Marlene did in fact say what was quoted, but not on-camera...OR, it was not the clip that was published, or only part of it was.

Here is the quote:

"It was her clothing. It was things that she would have kept with her and it was school books. We believe she was on her way to school. It shouldn't have been where it was. It definitely elevates our concerns," said Sheriff Laurie Smith of the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department.

Facts as such are few & far between. Even those on video are clipped, as well as those quoted in articles may be incomplete/inaccurate.

iirc, there has been no verifiable comment on just what kinds of books were reportedly found in her Juicy bag...just "school books".

LE is not going to give us all the facts and for good reason. As far as stories or opinions ,sometimes they are what solves crimes.I am always ready to read any poster's opinion with an open mind and I do believe that makes us a group

You can post SL twitter and give a day to look at. You cannot post an innocent person's twitter/name. There are NO POI nor suspects. WS honors people's right to privacy even in all these sad cases. I am NOT a mod. You can PM one your question. HTH.

Hope this works. Its a "cached" twitter page for f4ggg0t (sierra). If you search on yahoo.com you'll find it. Or this link if it works:

If we just wait for facts in a case, there would be no point in having a forum at all, really. We could just wait for press conferences on our own. JMO

This is my first post so hello everyone...

I've been following this case since day 1 and to be honest It worries me that the clothing was neatly folded.

Either she packed the bag herself with the intent to change later (unlikely to me if the clothing was in fact what
she was wearing that day)
OR someone felt that they plenty of time to sit and fold the clothing and place it neatly in the bag. This would indicate to me that there was NO ONE to interfere with what they were doing, they were in an enclosed area (house etc. at the time) and were not worried about being seen and they had to have been generally calm at the time the clothing was packed.
This also leaves me to believe if it was the perp then someone else was watching Sierra or Sierra wasn't able to move or anything otherwise they would be more concentrated on keeping an eye on her and less worried about folding clothes, or I would think so anyway. Either way they HAD TO HAVE BEEN in a calm mood at the time.

If they felt they had that kind of time or were calm A) they KNEW Sierra had not been reported missing and weren't worried she would escape or worried about anyone looking for her .. meaning they must have felt fairly comfortable where they were at the time B) Or
Sierra folded it herself and did it neatly because she was in no danger.. however I HIGHLY DOUBT she would toss the bag so close to home afterwards OR TOSS IT AT ALL, so it is unlikely to me that this is the case. Also if she was wearing it, I think she would have changed
when she reached her destination not right after walking out the door.

I honestly just feel like whoever packed the clothing (if it was not her) HAD PLENTY OF TIME and were not worried about a thing when they did it.. that scares me. The fact that the clothing was found so close to her home makes me think either they live in the neighborhood and dumped the bag later, or something was done to her fairly early in the day and they weren't worried about being seen because no one was looking and they knew this.

Also NO TEENAGER is going to throw an Android phone anywhere off of their body. A Phone is a teenagers lifeline and I am pretty positive it would have been along side wherever she was going. Most teenagers are not smart enough to realize you can be found by your pings on your phone or a GPS locater installed. So unfortunately they make the mistake of taking it
along. I have two teen girls and they are LOST without their phones. This also leads me to believe that something was done very early in the day.

Of course, there is also the scenario that she went voluntarily and I sure hope this is the case but the evidence so far says otherwise to me. I will note that yesterday there was a post on twitter that says @cccairuh I KNOW YOU ARE READING THESE TWEETS!! COME HOME!! and another stating @cccairuh WATCH THE NEWS YOUR MOM WANTS YOU TO COME HOME.. but today only one tweet is left and the first one is deleted.. Hope law enforcement caught that. I don't know if this child even knows sierra but those two tweets are sounding like either someone that KNOWS she is somewhere or someone who is really hoping she is. Either way they may be worth looking into.

I think that the driver of the car was unknown to Sierra, he/she/they? didn't choose to remain in that area. Too risky. Not going to find her near home.

One old monster: If it was a single older man he had no way of knowing at what point in time Sierra would be discovered missing. What if she had planned to meet up with a friend before class that morning? What if there was an emergency and a family member couldn't reach Sierra on her cell? What if her home room or first period class, or even a classmate called her mother to report Sierra was absent? How much would an older man know about the habits of teen? How much would he be willing to risk? He might be gambling against the clock, and desperate to hastily settle his lustful needs. He may have already been on record as an SRO. This one is extremely dangerous as he would not leave a witness behind.

Two against one: Now, if Sierra knew at least one person in that car, she may well have accepted an offer of a ride. In that case, if there was more than one person in that car, she was outnumbered from the start. I'm still thinking that somebody had to keep her hidden from the other commuters, and to render her unable to fight/flee. If on a freeway there would be no need to stop at stoplights, so visibility may not have been a concern. If she had an opportunity would she risk leaping/falling from a moving car to whatever horror she would have to endure from predators?

Friend: Another option, if she knew and had arranged to go with the sole male driver of the car, then there are just too many possible outcomes to ponder.

Classmates: Another iffy if females. There are some really mean girls who have no problem eliminating the competition. Did Sierra steal someone’s guy, even much earlier?

I don't think there is any hope that Sierra will ever greet her family and exchange hugs again. I feel sorry for this teen, and sorrier for her family who most likely will have to live with grief and loss for the rest of their lives.

I usually say 'no' when someone thinks a missing person has been taken by human traffickers. But in Sierra's case I can see a possibility. She is petite, very pretty, and kind of naive, imo. I think she may have made 'friends' with the wrong peeps, and might have been abducted into one of those underground rings.

Did anyone see Dr. Phil today? It was on the topic of how kids can be in normal situations around people they know and trust and still end up abducted and put into sex trafficking.

One night this gal (17) went out with a guy she had met and his friends. They went to the local grocery for some drinks. They partied and everyone went home...one of the guys offered to give her a ride - the only one she had met for the first time that night (if I remember correctly) and he took her to his house and drugged her, put her on CL and had her in a motel trafficking her until the the guy she met told her mom that his friend of a friend took her home that night.

Can this age-group stand up to pressure from LE if they know something and are questioned by the FBI, for example? I know kids are much tougher these days, or think they are, but am hoping not.

The mom said she carries her books in that purse. In the initial reporting, LE said only clothes were found in the purse, but I think someone posted that LE said the books were in the purse...::doh::

Hello! My first post at Websleuths. I have read through just about everything on here concerning Sierra. From the beginning I had concerns about trafficking. Backpage.com is the current website that is being used to advertise these girls. There is a girl advertised as an escort on the Los Angeles Backpage site that has a striking resemblence to Sierra. This is probably just a coinsidence. i don't feel that she ran away. She would have kept her bag. Teens are way to trusting and feel as though they are invincible, so getting in a car with someone she had contact over social media with is a good possibility. Gangs are notorious for trafficking teens. I beleive the clothes in her bag were not the ones she was wearing but a change of cloths. I am bothered by the migrant workers in the area also and either one of them or a sex offender could have witnessed her alone at the bus stop many times and traced her back to her house.
These are JMO!

Welcome, BeginnersLuck!

Good opening post...thank you!

I'm still reading-up thru this thread and the one which ended last night, but too tired at the moment to comment further. ;-> I'm sure others will be along soon with far better replies than mine.

Hoping to read more from you soon!
