personally, when the rewards start coming out, I get disheartened. To me it means they are begging and the investigating has come to a flatline--- just MOO.

I've never seen a case where a reward helps much, whether it's big or small. It could be that somebody somewhere has received a reward for calling in a tip that led to the case being solved, but never seen it publicized when they do. Sometimes the only ones who know what happened are the perps themselves, and they sure aren't going to report it because they won't get the reward anyway, if they're guilty.
Where does this reward money come from anyway? Donations, mostly. So I don't get where that means LE is begging and the investigation is flatlined. Sounds to me like they're still working pretty hard on it.

There is some confusion about that. I think this picture shows a sweatshirt. And she probably has a t-shirt on underneath to wear when it gets warmer out. But she also has a Sharks jersey, apparently. So nobody seems certain which one they were discussing in the bag.

Also, she could have had the sweatshirt on in the picture, then decided to take it off and put it in her bag in case she needed it. Especially if she was planning on getting a ride from someone. imo

Did Sierra smoke the wacky tobacky?

I have it in the back of my mind, she wanted to smoke or usually smoked one in the mornings... many high school kids have a regular spot to smoke before school starts. I am wondering if she had a ride and smoke buddy that no one knew about. Its not likely its something she would share, because its inconsequential... especially if that smoke buddy and ride isn't one of the popular kids in school, but someone that befriended the "new girl" before she knew they weren't a cool kid. A Sierra LaMar belongs to it. Sierra had her photos on her account, this one did not and the birthday was different. I would say it's a different Sierra.

I will tell her. She's almost 21 but she has all those social media sites.

Wonder how helpful rewards are - thinking about the large reward first offered in the Holly Bobo case of something round 85,000 IIRC...
Speaking of Holly's case, Sierra's has a similar feel to it...

Rewards are good to get publicity, which can be helpful.

I'm beginning to think of this as one of those "farmer, hunter, hiker, dogwalker" cases. Someone going about their business one day stumbles across human remains.

Yup, the Wake'N'Bake crew. There were some kids at my kids' school that were meeting at the church parking lot before school and smoking in their cars. My son warned his little sister NOT to park there in the mornings because at some point they were going to get busted. Which they did. Eventually.
Which was another reason i didn't want her riding with older friends to school. Luckily she never got caught up in that.

But I do wonder if Sierra might have gotten a ride that morning and ended up with the wrong people. It is really hard to figure out who is who when you are new. Especially when you are the new pretty girl. Lots of pervs were probably coming out of the woodwork, imo.

My son is 4 yrs older than my daughter so it was lucky for her to already know most of the much older guys. She knew who to trust and who not to trust. Sierra had no clue because she didn't really know anyone there.

I tell you what I just got back from there .It has been non stop people all day long . I went out with a group of 16 in an area along Coyote creek by the golf course, The one the I like about the Klass foundation is it is never announced where the are going to search. No warning for the perp.
Side note my body is telling me what the heck did you do to me. But worth it.

II suppose its probably irrelevant but I do wonder who it is that Sierra sent the photo to from her laptop that morning? .. I know that many assumed the photo and text were one in the same.. but LE has clarified they are not.. the photo sent from the laptop was sent prior to when she text messaged the friend at 711.. some have said they thought it was sent to Marlene but this is untrue as well.. when Marlene was asked who sierra had sent the photo to from her laptop Marlene said she wasn't sure..

Again its likely irrelevant but I do wonder to who Sierra took the snapshot and sent from her laptop to?

Thank-you. I ask because in one of the photos on her tumblr site has a picture of a room with a apple lap top on the bed. I don't know if she took the picture and posted it, or if someone else took it, and she just commented on it on her site. Just grasping for straws here.
Its probably a photo someone else took. But wanted to post after I found out if she had a apple. Have to look for it again.

If that is her tumbrl page and she is missing. How is it the photos keep changing?

This sounds stupid, BUT... in sept 2010 i was in CA at Disney for my birthday. It was sept 19th to be exact, and a fellow in line with me was approx 50, with two hoop earrings ,with a beanie and a backpack, was celebrating his bday too (we both had the pins) he was drunk as could be, and told me his whole life story and how he was alone because he lived with mother who was disabled and she wouldnt let him use the car so he had to take the bus and a cab.... when it was my turn to board the ride I begged the attendant to separate me from this weirdo...and my mom god love her, said WAIT let me take your pic so everyone can see the birthday kids! (we annoy each other this way) we still joke about this guy to this day-- i want mom to dig out that pic and compare the two----

I had read this several days ago and not sure if it could have bearing on this case or not.. in looking at it once again I do find it as a possible angle of a connection to the perp.. as in it being one of those ppl she was attempting to get away from in moving and starting a school in a different district.. could it be one of those ppl that showed up at Sierras that morning?

I just don't know? What leads me away from this theory is the fact that just last night the sheriff made clear that they had found nothing but dead ends when looking into her peers as possible suspects..

If the info from hinky is valid it definitely answers so very many of our questions of why was this girl was suddenly uprooted after already starting the school year at her long time school in Freemont ..

Oh my. I hope that Sierra was getting help, not just punishment, if that's true.
