Some, if not most, of them probably shot each other, deliberately or not.

Too soon to tell if most of the dead and injured were shooters.

We do know that SM was probably a shooter who was injured and Melinda Davis, the 57 year old homeless women, was probably not a shooter and killed. JMO.

Wouldn't surprise me that the victim that was with the brothers in the video from earlier in the evening was a shooter as well

Again - can not access any of the articles you all are posting. Do they identify these other people doing the shooting? Or they haven't mentioned other names yet?

TIA! :)
SACPD hasn't said if they have identified any of these other shooters yet.

That's almost certainly drug profits. It's possible he had to pay the entire $500,000. Where did he get that money?!

Watch him disappear. These gangs are sophisticated and totally out of control. They are taking over whole neighborhoods that used to be nice places. Down here in L.A. there are carjackings, street robberies and beatings of innocent people, and many home invasions, not to mention the thousands of homeless camped out on the sidewalks. The D.A. here is a criminal-loving freak. It's almost hopeless at this point.

K Street shootout suspect released early because of Prop 57 | abc10.com
Smiley Allen Martin was freed in February after serving time for punching a girlfriend, dragging her from her home by her hair and whipping her with a belt, according to court and prison records. Those count as nonviolent offenses under California law, which considers only about two dozen crimes to be violent felonies — things like murder, rape, arson and kidnapping.

Soft on crime California laws are leading to innocent people being killed. In what world is beating and whipping a woman nonviolent? JMO.

You would be surprised at the list of "nonviolent felonies" that the CDRC uses for early release. There's no California Penal code for a so called non violent felony which is part of the problem. The other part of the problem is when prop 57 was out on the ballot, the list of what was considered a non violent felony was out there but people ignored it and voted to pass it. Same thing happened with prop 47 and we see the results of that as well. They don't want to believe that the bad stuff that people way will happen will actually happen and this is the result of that. 4 years of a 10 year sentence is a joke plain and simple

Sorry, this content is not available in your region.

So - why did he only serve half his sentence.... ;)
Last year CDCR implemented "emergency" rules that made getting early release credits easier for convicted felons.
The additional credits were the product of “emergency” regulations which were passed and first made public on Friday April 30, 2021, at 3:00 p.m
District Attorney Schubert stated, “Allowing the early release of the most dangerous criminals, shortening sentences as much as 50%, impacts crime victims and creates a serious public safety risk.
