I'm sorry for even suggesting this, but now that we heard there was dementia in the family line... I was wondering if it would have been possible Susan was experiencing some level of forgetfulness, which made her fear this was the beginning of the illness, and that made her do something stupid.
Sometimes people when they are afraid of some illness, they can believe the symptoms they are experiencing are from the one illness they are so afraid of getting. Even if that's not the case, because forgetfulness could be a sign of simple ageing. Some people are also very good at masking forgetfulness for awhile, so no one would be the wiser.

I confirmed with Police that her purse was found in the car. I don't know too much more than that, as the Police don't want to release too much information about the car and all of that, given that it could have been a crime scene.

Thanks Kjac22 for confirming that her purse was found in the car, and also for the info that LE doesn't want to release too much info about the car.

I hope she was not depressed or fearful but kept it to herself. A woman named Sandra, in Canada, kind of comes to mind, if anyone followed her case, however there was not any of the wallet being tossed activity. No one thought she was depressed yet she apparently did commit suicide and was finally found in the river much later.

But generally it is not easy to "hide yourself" if you commit suicide, although it has happened.

Bumping for Susan......

Kjac22 I know this has been so difficult for you and your family.
We appreciate the times you have been on here to answer some of the questions we have.
Will there be any more searches planned?
Will there be a press conference of any sort?
I keep checking the internet for news, and I see mainly older articles about Susan.
I hope she is safe and found soon.

"Susan Jacobson, 59, went missing May 1 between 4 a.m. and noon. Police say she told her husband she was going to run errands that morning, and her empty Honda Civic was later found in the Raley's parking lot at Woodcreek Oaks and Pleasant Grove boulevards."

This article was mentioned on the SJMissing facebook page for Susan Jacobson, and in the article it mentions the facebook page as well.

What I don't understand is why the article states that Susan went missing between 4am and noon. Her husband, to my understanding, talked to her before he left at 6am. 4am is Two hours BEFORE he left to workout. Did he not see her after 4am then? Was she in the house when he left at 6? When did they last speak to each other? Where did they last speak to each other? Were they both in the house together the night before?
What stores would be open at 4am? Who goes shopping at 4am who is retired and had to run other errands in the day as well?
This is confusing.

KJac22 can you clarify that, seeing as that is what the article states.

Maybe it was 4am when her husband actually spoke to her or saw her?

That is strange. Equally odd is the 12 noon bookend. I thought there wasn't any thought that she was missing until the husband started calling people in the evening - around the 7:00 pm timeframe??

Maybe it was 4am when her husband actually spoke to her or saw her?

But he didn't leave to go workout until 6am.
Were they both in the same house together then, or did she talk to him from elsewhere? Or vice versa?

Right and noon as well. Her husband went to work out at 6am. Did he come home after working out? How was it known that the time frame was from 4am to noon? What does a person do at 4am. Getting a loaf of bread at 4am ?? She wasn't going to do a lot of shopping Kjac22 said.
I wonder what the other errands were that she was going to run that day that would require her to leave the home at 4am? A trip out of the city?

I have been contacting various news/media in the area and trying to get them to run update pieces. I'm hopeful that there will be a few in the upcoming days.

As of right now there is not a set date for another search. We are trying to focus in on some areas that have not been searched and narrow down areas - just tough with the lack of leads/info.

When I first saw something about 4am-noon I figured LE was looking for witnesses who may have seen someone hanging around before or after.

That's great Kjac22 that you have been contacting various news media. The way I found that article though was through the facebook site, as I couldn't find it on the internet when I went to look for current articles about her.
And this thread for Susan was on page 2 of the missing persons forum, and I know all cases are pressing, but I sure hate to see her slip to page 2,ya know...
With more articles we can Bump the thread for Susan and put her up on page one again, and have more to talk about and brainstorm ideas.

Right, because originally we had heard about the time of 4am, but this particular article states she went missing between 4am and noon.

I was still going by by posts #16, and 91. So I have no idea why that would have changed. Was it reported wrong THEN or is it reported wrong NOW? I wish her son would clarify what his dad has said to him personally. This secretive stuff and changing times is not helping the matter.

The information on the FB page will always be the most updated and "correct", to the extent possible. I believe the person writing the article on the Roseville Patch pulled the time information from one of the police requests - when a few days after she went missing they were requesting that anyone who was at that shopping center between 4am and noon to call them with any information or suspicious activity. In reality, what we know is that her husband last saw her at 6am when he was leaving to go to the gym, and she likely left at 7am to run her errands. Whatever occurred likely occurred around 7:30 (the wallet was found around 8am). The 4am and noon timeframes were just for the police to cast a wide net to talk to people who were at the shopping center. I'm not sure why the article used that time, other than it was just a mistake.

Per kjac22 and everything I have read, Susan was very timid and shy. I don't go out and about in my small town at 4 am, and I would wonder if she had done this before, or if she would do it all.

Ok so now we can stop fretting about incorrect info. I thank kjac22 for keeping us informed. I know this must be so difficult with us saying things that may sound harsh. But it's only our minds running ahead while trying to be helpful!!

This is pulled from the FB page, and has the timeframes as I understand them:

Susan Jacobson, 59, of Sun City Roseville, CA, was last seen on the morning of Wednesday, May 1, 2013, prior to heading out to run some errands. She told her husband, Chris, that she was going to pick up a couple things at Raley’s (located at 4051 Woodcreek Oaks Blvd. – corner of Pleasant Grove and Woodcreek), and then go to Target (located at 10451 Fairway Dr., Roseville, and which opened at 8am...). Chris last saw her at 6am when he left to go do his normal morning workout – she was still finishing some chores around the house and probably left the house at around 7am to go to Raley’s. When Chris returned at around 7:30am, she had left already (as expected). He then left shortly thereafter to go to work (and as expected, she had not returned prior to his leaving for work). When Chris returned home from work at around 6pm the same day, Susan was not at home, which was unusual. After calling local hospitals, Chris then called police to report her missing.

Susan’s car (recent model dark blue Honda Civic) was found that night at the Raley’s shopping center. The car was unlocked, which was very unusual for Susan, and her purse was left inside (also unusual for her - she is very protective of her belongings). Her wallet had been found that morning (Wednesday – the day she went missing) by a local jogger on the street side of the shopping center, and turned into Starbucks (at approximately 8am that morning) which is located at the corner of the Raley’s shopping center. Her ID was in the wallet, but money and credit cards were missing. Susan does not normally go to Starbucks (she does not drink coffee).*

Susan is a white female, 4 feet 11 inches tall, and weighs about 90 pounds. She was likely wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and a visor. Susan did not carry a cell phone.*

Susan is retired, and a very routine-oriented person. She does not socialize much, but enjoys spending time with her family – which includes her husband, her sister, and her grown son and his wife. She was very excited to welcome her first grandchild into the world, due in early July. All indications were that she was happy and looking forward to spending time with the new addition to the family.

Susan’s family and friends would like to see her return safely home. If you have any information that you think would be useful, please contact the Roseville Police Department at 916-774-5070 (or tip line 916-774-5080). Thank you for all your support.

Right, because originally we had heard about the time of 4am, but this particular article states she went missing between 4am and noon.

May be bad wording...or they took the hours LE mentioned and twisted it...bad reporting.
