I don't see an issue that Kjac ran off. He was here yesterday morning, as he "liked" a post so he was logged in. That was Only yesterday morning. With this being the 4th of July I would think that he is enjoying his holiday the best he can under these circumstances.
His wife is pregnant due this month, so he has a lot on his plate.
He is concerned about his mother and her welfare.

This May 24th article published in the Roseville Press Tribune discusses plans for an upcoming "public awareness demonstration" for Susan.

Does anyone know if it ever took place?

"Die hard volunteers refuse to give up on finding Jacobson"

http://www.thepresstribune.com/article/die-hard-volunteers-refuse-give-finding-jacobson

//snip//
Swasey and Cornel are now planning a public awareness demonstration for Jacobson in the shopping center at Pleasant Grove and Woodcreek Oaks boulevards, where the only evidence around her disappearance has been found in the form of an empty car and empty wallet. A date for the demonstration has not been set, but any volunteers who would like to participate in keeping Jacobson’s image circulating by holding up large pictures can find out more information by emailing [email protected]. Both Swasey and Cornell stress the email address is only for passing out flyers and is in no way affiliated with the Roseville Police Department’s investigation.

Bless these wonderful ladies. I've emailed them and await a response.

If it happened I missed it.

I just had two thoughts of things that might help?

- State Fair? I think the county fair in that area's over, but the CA state fair runs July 12-28. I remember seeing posters/flyers for Linnea Lomax at the fair last year. Here's the info: http://www.bigfun.org/.

- Downtown Tuesday Nights? http://downtownroseville.com/node/351 and http://2025events.com/5701/index.html. A little info: "Self acclaimed biggest weekly cruise in Northern California." and "We will print a program to be distributed by direct mail to all Roseville Residents <snip> and and print additional programs to be passed out during the 13 events by the PennySaver." I don't know how you'd get into that program, but it sure seems like good publicity. It's unfortunately been cancelled a couple of times due to weather - once due to rain, once due to heat, but they say (in an email I got) they're committed to holding the remaining events for the year.

I literally just thought of these so I don't know logistics of participating in them, putting up flyers, etc. It's definitely not my area of expertise, but they seem like good opportunities for publicity. Any thoughts?

I meant to add: awesome work these ladies are doing! Bright Shadow it's great you emailed them - hope you hear back soon.

I wish there were more details being released about Susan and her case. I see also that her facebook page to find her, has not been updated since June 20th, so with little to go on, I can see the challenge of it all, and the difficulty of updating.

Where are you Ms. Susan?

That's a really, really good idea, nikb.

Next to Susan's actual disappearance, the thing that's most mystifying to me is the silence.
No recent appeals for tips or help. No new searches. No news updates.
Why?

I agree. The silence is uncomfortable. It has been over 2 months now that Susan has been missing, but it is rare to see a current internet article about her, or a current news video.
I wonder why I hear Crickets......?

you would kind of think neighborhood watch would be interested, considering one of their own is missing under mysterious circumstances, wouldn't you?

Not to mention all the groups and activities in the community-that ought to be interested?

Same here, re: the silence! It's just been SO quiet and for SO long. I feel like I'd have to really justify even pushing the State Fair or the Roseville Tuesday Cruise "people" to do anything. I'm still going to research it more today to at least see who to contact.

The Tuesday Night thing in Roseville is IMO probably a lot more casual than the state fair. We've shown up before without even being registered and had people move the cones out of the way and wave us to a parking spot just because they like my husband's car. I don't think they'd bat an eye about us handing out some flyers, even if it didn't get into the official publication. The publication would be way better publicity, but might be more logistically challenging. I want to check out official channels to see if that's even something we should try to do, though, since it has been SO quiet.

Kjac if you're still around and checking in, would love to hear your thoughts if you can - on the thread or via Private Message.

I would think that the community would and should be worried when an almost 60 year old woman goes missing,( or anyone of any age,) but particularly because this is in fact a retirement community. She is One of Their Own. The media attention to her plight has scrawled to a snail's pace. I know there are supporter's out there as in articles from when she went missing in May state there are, but as the days and weeks go by, it is like Susan has faded from the mainstream, faded into obscurity, faded into nothingness, as if almost she doesn't exist, but we know she does.....we know she did.......that's all we know. She has vanished. Quite sad really. All the way around.
God Bless you Susan, where ever you are..........I hope you are alive sweet lady.

I just checked the Age Limitations for a Silver Alert in the state of California, and unfortunately for Susan, the age for the Silver Alert starts at the age of 65. She is too young for this type of an alert. :(

In a community of seniors, it really surprises me that they are not raising hell with the local police over Susan's case.

  • #655
All - there is a facebook page at www.facebook.com/SJmissing (can search Susan Jacobson - Missing in Roseville on facebook). If people have other ideas, please let me know - unfortunately I haven't really found an instruction manual for this process yet ;)

Thank you again for your interest and concern.

Here is a link to Susan's facebook page that Kjac posted awhile back.

That does seem odd. Perhaps some of the community of seniors just aren't Aware that she is missing. I think with the dwindling media support about Susan being missing, maybe she has been forgotten about or that maybe others think she is back home already. Whatever the case, there just isn't the media attention that Susan deserves, to bring her home.

Hi all! I am a new member on WS and a long time resident of Roseville. I have been following Susan Jacobson's case since she went missing. I can't get past how little attention the whole thing is getting. The silence is maddening. More awareness is absolutely needed and it's the public that has to make it happen. I am bothered by the fact that I have not seen a single flyer. They should be everywhere, right? It would be nice if the entire greater Sacramento area was wallpapered with them. There have been several great ideas others have posted here. I would gladly participate in any of them if someone familiar with the logistics could get the ball rolling.

I think about Susan and the whole Jacobson family a lot each and every day. In some ways Susan reminds me of my mom, which may be part of why this case disturbs me so much. Also, I can't accept that a member of our community has been missing for this long, and it's still a complete mystery.

Totally agree! I'm not far up the road, so to speak, in Carmichael and I just can't believe how little press is out there. I think of the family constantly too. So happy for Kjac and his new little one! Although it makes me so sad thinking I bet Susan would be home if she could be right now.

I haven't heard back from anyone yet, like I said this is way out of my realm of experience, but I'll post details if I can on the Tuesday Night Market and/or the State Fair. I know a number of us are looking for ways to get publicity, and really hoping something pans out.

As a grandmother who was present for the birth of 3 of my grandchildren, and my one great grandchild, I'm sadden that Susan wasn't able to be there for this miraculous event.

I'm wondering if the silence in this case means LE is on top of it and knows what happened??? Otherwise, they should be pleading with the public for information and keeping her disappearance in the news.

I'm scratching my head about there not being flyers out there everywhere about Susan's disappearance.

I hope Susan is found soon so she can see her new grandbaby.
