CA CA - Sydney “Syd” West, 19, Univ of CA student, San Francisco, 30 Sep 2020 #2

According to the "Disappeared" episode her dad wakes up ~7am and notices tracking is off on her phone.
She is dropped off by rideshare ~6:30am

If she was abducted wouldn't her phone have kept tracking unless perpetrator/s somehow disabled tracking before 7am?

I'm wondering what the last time stamp was that she was seen on a bridge camera alone, presumably safe?
This had to have been a very short window of time before her dad woke up and saw that her phone was no longer tracking

Although probably not possible it would be extremely helpful to get the exact time her phone stopped tracking and why (disabled, uninstalled, turned off...)

On another note, I've followed Sydney's disappearance since the beginning. Imo, there are a lot of nuances, especially with her personal social media posts & videos. I really wish I could believe that she was still with us. I hope her family can get closure someday. This recent coverage was very heartbreaking

I watched the ID channel and saw her story. The dad said he never opened her backpack, do we know if he ever did? Maybe there was a note? Why would she drop her backpack and leave it behind? If she was just going on a run why wouldn't she leave the backpack at the hotel?

The dad said the talk he had with her the night prior indicated she was struggling mentally, and he admitted she was battling depression and had a concussion. Occams razor. I also have read that when some people jump from the bridge their remains are not recovered.

I understand the families anguish and exploring all possibilities. I pray they get answers one day.

The uncle and mom looked in her backpack. Wasn't anything of value to her disappearance.

Unfortunately, I believe she jumped off the bridge. There was fog that morning. Visibility wasn't as clear and people most likely paying more attention to the road. She brought the backpack back because it was harder to climb the rails with it or she left it behind as if to say..I was here.
Not all bodies surface to the top. Donna Urban jumped off the DE Memorial Bridge in 82 or 83. She was seen jumping by witnesses and a search vessel was immediately sent out. To this day, she is still considered missing. My heart goes out to Sydneys family..19 years old, so young.

Very interesting video. And such a sad case. I’m curious why her parents didn’t come to S.F. Immediately when she was hospitalized for 72 hours after her previous suicide attempt and they found out that state law did not allow her to be held longer against her will. Maybe they didn’t find out that she was hospitalised right away.

I can’t think of any parents who willingly accept the possibility of suicide when their child is missing. It’s natural to try to prove they’re still alive, even in the face of strong evidence to the contrary.

Something about seeing an age-progressed photo of Sydney makes me so sad! I hate that we're at that point. Hers was the case that made me start posting on Websleuths and I think of her often. :( Can't believe it'll have been 5 years this September. I hope so much we & her family get answers someday.
I also think of Sydney often :( such a vibrant young woman
