Officials think it was arson - she didn't do it, because she is still in Oregon. So.... was it her best friend? Or someone, who, like local police, thinks she is evil?

She must have really not liked that little girl to treat her that way or else she resented having to raise her along with her own two kids. She's sure a pitiful looking little woman. Chances are the dead daughter gave her a hard time growing up and so she didn't appreciate having to raise her child. Maybe the little girl reminds her of her dead daughter. Who knows but there is some reason that she treated her so badly. I hope she is placed for adoption.

This grandmother will receive a slap on the hand and then will be given her freedom. Probably get her own kids back too as there was no sign that she abused them.

November 2009 - pleads no contest.

An Atascadero woman who locked her 10-year-old granddaughter in a closet for days was sentenced to six years in state prison on Thursday...

Detectives seized a videotape from a camera pointed at the downstairs closet and used to monitor the girl, according to the police report.

The tape showed her leaving the closet, which which triggered an alarm.
