Is anyone listening to the scanner? Anyone have a link for this area? Thanks in advance.

Hope they find him. Tomorrow is going to be super hot. He needs to come home. :please:

I haven't been able to find a scanner thread.

From same friend "Los alamos park. Kid reported running away from some people!! That is straight from command center. Every one is taking off!!! This is sounding like a good lead!!!!"

I've got everything crossed! I've been worried for this little guy all day.

Those listening to the scanner, just post what you are hearing in the breaking news thread.
Hopefully we won't need a scanner thread for him for long!

Just post the link to this thread and the link to the scanner down there. So people know what case it is about.

I've seen two different reports as to where he was last seen. One has him in his bedroom the other walking toward the house. Do we have confirmation on which is accurate?

Hoping they do NOT consider the area cleared based off of police K9, especially in the case of an autistic child. Time and time again we see that dogs have trouble with autistic scent (for lack of a better term). We are really not sure why, but the chemical makeup is clearly different and it is not something that most handlers/trainers have access to train on. There have been multiple cases in the past few months worked by dogs that I personally considered to be well trained and they have all missed the child in all cases.

Thank you! I didn't know that. Hopefully, LE knows it. Glad you are here!

I did not know that, how interesting is that? (I love SARX.)
I should find out if my daughter's scent is different. :waitasec:

http://www.pe.com/local-news/rivers...es/20130707-menifee-autistic-boy-goes-missing.

Here's where 10:30 came from:

Terry’s mother discovered the boy was missing in the morning around 10:30 a.m., according to Deputy Martinez.

“When they woke up in the morning he wasn’t there,” Martinez said.

9:30 I think I saw earlier before the article was updated, or maybe it was in the comments. Sorry, I know comments aren't technically approved here on WS, I was kind of hurrying when I tried to post info earlier. The article's been updated, also.

In any case in the MSM article above he was discovered missing at 10:30am, after the family woke up and discovered he wasn't there. Doesn't say exactly when they woke up. Maybe the boy often woke up before everyone else?

Wow that is really interesting! It seems like the autistic kids I've known often have facial features described as angelic too (even more angelic than your average child). I wonder what differences can be found? I'm sure "they" (meaning researchers) are on it, but interesting.

I hope an area isn't cleared that shouldn't be. This boy needs to be found!

It is incredibly frustrating, but what I have learned from it is that we send the dogs out, if they find the child, fantastic, if they don't we don't assume anything based on that.

PS also so hope this boy being mentioned is him! Even if he's scared, he can survive and thrive.

Trying to get my bearings on my trusty map. I have Helen Lane in Menifee, but the only Los Alamos Park I am coming up with is in Murrietta, 7+ miles away down off of 215. Is this correct or am I missing it?

  • #57
Really making me nervous to see all the children out. Hope they are not searching.

  • #58
I would love to see them using this mass amount of people they have to set up perimeters. It may seem like a boring job, but in the case of autistic they are often on the move and so sometimes the searchers staying put can actually be better than the traditional methods. Might just end up with him walking right on by.

I don't know the area but think it's really close. I never know how the zooming is going to work w/map links, but maybe this will help?

Or, try the spelling Murietta.

ETA: this doesn't help w/the park, but hope it helps w/the street.

I was just watching a live shot on the local LA news. I'm so amazed by the HUGE turnout of volunteers! It looks like the entire county is out there with flashlights searching. I really, really hope they find him soon.
