The Turpin children who escaped a torturous household run by twisted parents are suing California foster officials whom they say placed them in a new, abusive home.

"We're headed into some more serious litigation," he said. "People are digging their heels in on all sides because no one likes to take responsibility for such horrific conduct. It's not easy for people to accept the fact that what they did caused horrific harm to children."

This so sad to hear. I really feel like this should have been treated as a special case and the children should have been kept together. I realize this would require multiple caregivers and some were legally adults.

However, they were raised in a very unusual environment where they didn't really associate with people outside their family. They needed help navigating the world, perhaps to be taught skills that people their age would normally know. Also, some of them had to be hospitalized at first because they were so underfed.
