The four men accused of the October 2019 kidnapping-murder of a Pleasure Point entrepreneur will stand to face trial on a spate of charges, a Santa Cruz County Superior Court judge ruled Wednesday.

Judge John Salazar’s decision came at the conclusion of a drawn-out preliminary hearing for defendants Joshua Camps, 25, brothers Kurtis and Kaleb Charters, 23 and 20, and Stephen “Nick” Lindsay, 23, who each have been charged with murder in the Oct. 1, 2019 death Tushar Atre, a 50-year-old Pleasure Point resident. The four have been indicted on a total of seven counts, including carjacking, first-degree burglary, kidnapping, kidnapping to commit another crime — a charge by itself which carries a life sentence, second-degree robbery, first-degree residential robbery, plus special allegations of robbery and kidnapping during the commission of a murder. Camps alone carries an additional special allegation of using an assault rifle in order to carry out his crimes.

older but interesting.
Not shocking considering what his Glassdoor reviews that were posted on here were. Dude got into the weed game and thought he could treat people like he did in the tech game. Big mistake obv

hit me w the 404
According to preliminary hearing testimony in the case, Kaleb Charters and Lindsay were former employees of Atre, working at a marijuana-growing facility on Soquel-San Jose Road in 2019. After a falling out, the former employees left the job for a time before returning with Camps and Kurtis Charters to Santa Cruz in October 2019 from their homes in Southern California

I saw this for the first time today on 48 hours. Googled to find out when the trial begins- March 2024- I love they got the killers on camera- I love when criminals are unaware they are on camera--- caught committing nefarious acts. Sounds like Tushar was kind of of a jerk-- but also there seems like another part of him was a nice guy- takes these guys (as employees)- gives them a tour of his home--- not too smart- kind of naieve

He had no business being in the black market weed industry. He thought he could treat people like he did in the tech sector. Big mistake.

He was in a risky business for sure-- still I like seeing killers on camera get caught- totally unaware they are on candid camera--
