I feel like the extraction of DNA from one of them means that at least they weren't at least until they got her DNA. I wonder why DNA wasn't extracted from UP4388. Did they lose her body? I don't know a reason why one would be cremated and the other not.

As soon as I read “California” that was my first thought. I’m hoping these women are not cremated. Little did they know they were destroying a key part in the identification process.

Yeah that’s a possibility. Either cremated or, well, come on it’s been 43 years. That DNA is definitely not in its prime. You’re not gonna get too much out of her sadly.
