CA - Violent sexual predator to be released into Orange County, CA, 11-17-2010

  • #61
I just saw a news conference with the OC District attorney, this will give them the time to finish putting together their case to have him civilly committed!

Yes!

I think I can sleep tonight now!

You guys are the best- I'll be ready though if there needs to be a fight over this!

Hi Frigga,

Do you know if there's a link to the presser. I'd sure like to see it. If not, no worries.

Hugs,

Mel

ETA:It works!

Thank you - that was a good feeling to watch. To imagine a little girl playing hide and seek one minute, then brutally raped the next is beyond comprehension. There are many people in OC waiting for the next action to take place, and if this perp is released - it's not going to be good for him.

Mind you, I am NOT for vigalante justice -- I want him kept behind bars or in a mental institution for the rest of his life. Why let the people of OC and surrounding areas live in fear of this animal.

May God help us....

Local news is reporting another victim has come forward, alleging she was assaulted by Brown decades ago.

No more details at the moment.

Okay, part of this article has me a little worried, they'd better keep him for a long time this time...

In April, he was paroled to a friend's house in a residential area on Red Hill Ave. in Tustin.

He violated his parole by failing to charge the batteries on his GPS monitoring device and became a transient.

He was sent back to prison for that violation.

Neighbors fear he will come back again.

KNBC Channel 4 reported tonight that TWO new victims have come forward to make allegations against Brown.

They also reported that the woman who was driving Brown said she had no idea of his parole conditions. She's the "friend" that Brown lived with after his release earlier this year. Residents in the neighborhood were interviewed, and one man said it was good news for their safety, and his, that he was sent back to prison.

Lawrence Joseph Brown aged 52 has served 25 years of his 49 year sentence for the abduction and rapes of two little girls. These were seperate inicidents.

An hour after being released police arrested Brown who was in a car with a woman named Ruby Huggler. That was a direct violation of his parole. I'm not sure if it's because she was a woman or because of this particular woman. Apparently this guy was paroled before and lived with this woman.

There's alot of information at this link. In between his release and imprisonment another woman came forward and said that she believed Brown was the man that had raped her years ago, but the sttue of limitations ran out or something like that. This guy is skeery.

http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/nov/17/sex-offender-arrested-just-after-calif-release/

According to this - it was in violation of his parole - Ruby was allegdly his girlfreind.

Also says here that he was nabbed on a parole violation after a woman came forward on wednesday morning claiming that he raped her back in the 70's.

It's reported here also that they "changed their minds" and are now petitioning to get him back in lock up.

Thanks, Kiley. I wasn't sure of how he violated parole. I got it now.

What the heck is up with Ruby?

OC DA Rackauckas says the arrest came after a day of legal attempts by his office to keep Brown in prison that were rendered moot by his release, but can now be pursued again.

I think I'll send him a nice big thank you for doing what he's doing. I think he was even bamboozled by the state agency. Hope he kicks some serious butt!

MOO

Mel

ps: thanks everyone for the updates!

yes he was. And what makes it even more gut-wrenching is that neighbors nor the public were notified that this animal was back among us. I "thought" the public had to be notified when a violent sex offender was released. This was all done behind our back and is very frightening. I wonder how many more are out there released under this so-called professional panel.

Gives me the chills....

I just read this from today's Orange County Register. This was a quote from the woman driving Brown:

Huggler said she was unaware that being alone with a woman in a car was one of the conditions of Brown's parole and that he didn't mention it to her. She was on the phone with his parole officer asking for directions when she was pulled over.
"I realize he had a lot of parole conditions. I don't know what they are. It's his responsibility to know these things, not everyone else's responsibility to monitor it for him," Huggler said.
The two were within blocks of the parole office when they were pulled over, Huggler said.
"I am the biggest rule follower that you'll ever know," Huggler said. "My association with him as a friend was that I honestly thought he was innocent. I understand that there are other things going on now and at this point I don't know what I'm supposed to think".

Ok she was talking to his parole officer?!?! His parole officer is talking to her on the phone knowing that it is a violation of his parole to be in a car with a woman??? So the parole officer is assisting him in violating his parole?? That's what it sounds like to me!!

Investigators from the Orange County District Attorney's Office followed Brown from the prison, quickly determining that he had violated a condition of his parole barring him from being alone in a vehicle with a female, Rackauckas said. Brown was reportedly riding in a vehicle with Ruby Huggler, a Tustin woman he had stayed with during a brief parole in April.

The investigators followed him from the prison - in a car w/ a woman.

Why is this the P.O.'s fault?

Surely Brown knew:
A) the conditions of his parole
B) that he was getting out & needed a ride

Sounds more like poor planning on Brown's part - at least from what's in the article...JMHO.
