GUILTY CA - Vyctorya Sandoval, 2, beaten to death, Pomona, 23 April 2011

Once again CPS drops the ball and a senseless death of an innocent child is the result. Man oh man when will it stop? What is it going to take to protect these kids? Who will keep them safe if the ones whoshould love and care for them the most will not and neither will organizations designed to protect abused and neglected children? How many more innocents will have to die before the message is relayed that these organizations are in desperate need of massive review and reform? This is outrageous.. :furious:

I am for all children before and after they are born (unless they become a child who kills) and want nothing more then to see them all in a loving home and well taken care of.

The civil rights of people who are abusers, rapists, murders and child molesters needs to be adjusted. CPS needs to be redone as well.

How this is not a testament to needing reform, sterilization, something, I don't know what is. The number of children in foster care is astounding.

Hopefully the mother will remain in jail for the duration of her pregnancy. Vyctorya's features are consistent with fetal alcohol syndrome, and although I don't know that the mother is drinking during this pregnancy, it would be in the baby's interest to have her supervised.

Such a bizarre and sad story.

I don't see anything in the child's features to suggest she had fetal alcohol syndrome. Looks like a normal pretty little girl to me. The child was developing normally physically, since she was average weight for her age while at foster care. Also, this is a year later after Victoria's death so her pregnancy should be over by now, unless she is pregnant again.

Hmm. I'm not quite sure what features you're looking for in a child with FAS that this little girl didn't have - the pic of her with the sippy cup is where her features are shown the most clearly. If you compare this drawing to her features, you'll see she has them all.

You may never have worked with a small child with FAS, so it's not always obvious.

At any rate, I didn't realize how old this case was and that the mother would have already given birth. Prayers that the baby is in safe hands.
