So does this mean Wendy made it to the Mariposa DMV and had her vehicle registered on the Wednesday following when she last texted her sister? I hope LE pulled footage from the DMV cameras if there were any installed. MOO

Family said Wendy planned to visit the DMV in Mariposa on Wednesday to register the new red Jeep she’d recently purchased from a tow yard. But she never made it.

Watson said she last heard from her sister Wendy via text on Tuesday night.

The text read in part, “I can’t call from here can you tell mom Oakhurst couldn’t register car so I had to go to Mariposa didn’t make it in time so staying out here don’t have the gas to make it back then back again so I will go back tomorrow.”

Holly said she knew Wendy planned to stay at a friend’s house on Stumpfield Mountain Road in Mariposa County rather than return to the family’s shared acreage and homes in Ahwahnee.

All I could find was an arrest 5 years ago for being "under the influence of a controlled substance". Since the record shows she was jailed under California Health and Safety Code 11550(A) H which covers heroin, cocaine, and oxycodone, it wasn't just weed. http://www.goldrushcam.com/sierrasu...posa-county-booking-report-for-may-5-2019.pdf
The arrest was made in 2019. That's 3 years ago :)

“I can’t call from here can you tell mom Oakhurst couldn’t register car so I had to go to Mariposa didn’t make it in time so staying out here don’t have the gas to make it back then back again so I will go back tomorrow.”

Why can't she call, but she can text?
Why does a 57 woman have to let mom know (through her sister) where she's at. Did she make plans with mom? That's the only reason I can think of. Why through her sister, doesn't mom have a phone?

At what time was this texted?

They found the car, (concerning, without her) where was it finally registered and on what day? The text sounds a bit like a "white lie" to me.

Hard drugs use isn't usually a one time event and doesn't "go away" over night. Could she have had a relapse?

IMO it's very telling she didn't show up at the funeral of her cousin and the birthdays of her family members. It looks like, from what the family says, she seems to be a very sweet and loving person that has close (family) relations. For now it seems to me she is not a person going of the grid just like that. Her not found is bad, not good at all.

I wonder why there isn't a tattoo description (or did I missed that?) because she has a few. Log in or sign up to view

Just a crazy thought. Could she have gone to the person who her cousin was in the fatal accident with, obtaining redress and something happened?

This is a report of her cousin's accident. Oakhurst motorcycle rider dies in wreck - Mariposa Gazette

In April 2014 another loved one was killed in a motorcycle accident. Wendy has a tattoo in remembrance of him. I found a blog-spot describing this accident, but I can't post it here. It must have hurt very much and then the passing of her cousin; again a motorcycle accident.

Still nothing on missing resident Wendy Pullins

By ohtadmin | on January 26, 2023

No new information has been released to the public in the search for missing Ahwahnee resident Wendy Pullins. Her whereabouts and the reasons for her disappearance overnight on June 14 remain unknown.

Fifty-eight year old Wendy is the mother of three adult children and nine grandchildren. Wendy is described as “sweet and wonderful,” with brown hair and eyes, at 5’ 4” tall.

The last time family communicated with Wendy, she texted her plan to stay overnight at the home of an acquaintance in Mariposa County so she would be closer to the Mariposa DMV the next day, where she planned to register her newly purchased red Jeep Cherokee.

Both Wendy and the Jeep were unaccounted for after that and information about the case was sparse until the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Department announced on Sept. 9 Wendy’s Jeep had been located.

Due to the ongoing investigation, the sheriff’s office said in September the location where the Jeep was found would not be released “for now.” The vehicle was processed by detectives locally before being sent to Sacramento for further processing.
Information about the case can be called into the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office at (209) 966-3615. Anonymous tips may also be made through Valley Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP (7867) or by texting “TipMaderaSO” followed by your message to 888777.

Family hopeful mystery of lost woman will be uncovered soon

More than eight months after the sudden and still unexplained disappearance of Ahwahnee grandmother Wendy Pullins, she remains missing and there is no recent news in her case.

Wendy disappeared after texting family to say she was staying overnight at the home of an acquaintance in Mariposa on June 14, 2022.

Wendy is 58 years old, described as being “sweet and wonderful,” with brown hair and eyes, at 5’ 4” tall. She is the mother of three adult children and has nine grandchildren, loves animals and possesses a “huge heart.” Her mother and two sisters are at a loss to know what has happened, especially since it’s not the only tragedy they’ve endured in the past year.

The family and especially Holly Watson, Wendy’s sister, was devastated last April when her son Dillon Crossman was killed in a motorcycle crash in Mariposa. Just weeks later, Wendy went missing.

Holly maintains hope the mysteries surrounding Wendy’s disappearance will soon be solved. In the meantime, she keeps her eyes open for random heart-shaped rocks the sisters enjoyed collecting together. Holly feels they’re a sign.
“I have found three or four more heart-shaped rocks,” the grieving mom and sister said this week. “The detectives told me they are working night and day on her case and hopefully soon will tell me something.”

Holly feels information is bound to come to light.

“Maybe I’m being hopeful but I just feel we will find out soon,” she shared this week. Yesterday, me and my mom went to my cousin’s bridal shower. Wendy was supposed to officiate her wedding.”

Reminders of the missing are everywhere for families stuck in this kind of limbo.

“I went to see (the movie) Magic Mike’s Last Dance which, she definitely would have been there. Yesterday was a very hard day. I cried all the way home.”

No day has been easy for the family since Dillon’s death and Wendy’s disappearance.

The missing woman’s last text to Holly indicated she would drive the new-to-her red Jeep Cherokee to the Mariposa Department of Motor Vehicles for registration on June 15, but Wendy never made it to the DMV and neither did the Jeep.
Both were just – gone.

Almost three months after she vanished, the Jeep was located, according to the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office on Sept. 9. The vehicle was processed by detectives locally before being sent to the California Department of Justice Crime Lab in Sacramento for further processing.

Due to the ongoing investigation, the sheriff’s office said back in September the vehicle’s location would not be released “for now.”

Information about the case can be called into the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office at (209) 966-3615. Anonymous tips may also be made through Valley Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP (7867) or by texting “TipMaderaSO” followed by your message to 888777.

I've said it before, but I can't understand why the sheriff is withholding the location where the vehicle was found. They must have a reason for not doing so, but I can't think of what it would be...especially now, 6 months later.

Ya, I wonder why myself.

Why is she not in Namus and not here Madera, CA Area Missing Persons, not here Mariposa, CA Area Missing Persons and not here Missing Person Search

Does LE thinks she is not really missing or what? Can't believe that because;

"The sheriff’s office is now offering a $1,000 reward for anyone with information regarding Wendy’s location and says those with information can call 209-966-3615"

Don't they have a missing persons protocol where it says they have to put missing persons in the available databases?

Article is behind a paywall. This much is visible. This is not good news.

Wendy PullinsAfter well over a year, it is now confirmed the case of a missing Madera County woman is being investigated as a homicide.
“We are continuing to investigate,” said Mariposa County Sheriff Jeremy Briese.

That came after the sheriff’s office on Monday said they are offering a $1,000 reward for information about Wendy Pullins, who was 57 at the time of her disappearance, in Mariposa County.
“We are running it as a homicide investigation,” said Briese.
That’s news in the case, where sp...
