The place where her car was founds looks like a construction site. Is it related to a possible POI and that's why the finding place is not released or does the place belong so some hotshot who is protected?

I was just curious about the crime situation in Madera county.

Overall, Madera is a safe place to live. As reported by the latest FBI crime figures, Madera has a total crime rate that is 7% lower than the national average, and 15.3% lower than the state average. Property crime is 12% lower than the U.S. average, and 19.6% lower than the California average. However, the violent crime rate is 20.4% higher than the country’s average. Protecting and serving the area are the 69 officers with the City of Madera Police Department.

Now, a year later, Mariposa sheriff’s investigators are turning to the public again, but this time they are offering a $1,000 reward for any information related to Pullins’ whereabouts or that leads to her discovery. Those tips can be made by contacting the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office at (209) 966-3615.

On September 8, 2022, Detectives with the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office located the Jeep Cherokee that was last known to be driven by Wendy Pullins. The vehicle was found down a steep embankment in a remote area of Mariposa County. The vehicle was sent to the California Department of Justice (DOJ) Forensic Laboratory to be processed for anything of evidentiary value. Forensic analysis done of blood located inside the vehicle was a positive match to Wendy’s DNA. Because of the amount of time since Wendy was reported missing, the condition of the vehicle and the blood located inside the vehicle, this investigation is being treated as a homicide.

Multiple items of evidence were collected from the vehicle and are being processed by the DOJ lab in an effort to identify suspects in this investigation.

“Wendy’s family deserves answers, and my office will not stop trying to find those answers. Our Detectives are working this case daily. I am confident we will catch those involved, very soon," said Sheriff Jeremy Briese.

How terrible. This poor woman. So sorry for her family. LE must have been searching the surroundings and with not finding her, they ruled out an accident.

Wendy’s family needs closure and our office is gonna work every single day, and we’re gonna do everything we can to bring closure and bring suspects into custody,” said Sheriff Briese.

One of Wendy’s family members told us Tuesday that she was always down to help anyone in need, and that she was always kind.

Wendy would have turned 59 years old on Sept. 14.

Her last known location was on Stumpfield Mountain Road in Mariposa County.

“She was gonna be staying with a friend in Mariposa County. And ultimately, her destination the next day was to go to the DMV in Mariposa.”

I wonder where the blood was found in the vehicle? On or near the front seat could mean an injury from an accident where she wandered away from the vehicle disoriented?

BTW I thought it was a red Jeep she owned and drove? Was it painted, by the perp(s)?

The Stumpfield Mountain Road is long, through woody terrain, and almost an hour drive from beginning to end.

I saw both truck photos several times. I need to get my brain checked again. I didn’t even put the difference together yet. Thanks my friend. What in the world? That’s probably why LE is being so evasive in naming the location of both the blood and the truck.

Grew up there, it can be pretty shady. It’s got small town community but also small town politics.

There looks to be red paint above headlight on drivers side and also on drivers door.

I think it's green paint mostly on the hood - in order to camouflage the red Jeep. Driver's door still shows the original red.

I see why they are now treating this as a homicide, and it's so sad. I now believe the truck was driven to this location from the scene of the crime and dumped. Perhaps the perp came back with auto paint in a spray can.

Delaying capture is every criminal's goal. I hope they have some evidence of who it is.

IMO.

Moo...maybe just bad paint, and the rain washed some away while it was laying there?
