How shocking! Oh, poor Wendy. I wonder what she knew and how she knew it.

“A few individuals located the Jeep and began driving it around Mariposa. Those individuals later learned that the Jeep belonged to the missing person, Wendy Pullins,” stated Sheriff Briese. “Rather than call the sheriff’s office, those individuals attempted to paint the Jeep green, and then they dumped it.”

The Jeep was found down an embankment on its side in September of last year with blood inside that was later positively identified as Pullins, sparking the homicide investigation, which included wiretapping social media, cell phones, and landline phones of those believed to be involved in Pullins disappearance. Detectives learned that an escape plan was being set up for Bolton, which included collecting money from friends and family to allow him to flee the county. Bolton was arrested last month for the homicide after being found hiding out in the town of Willits in Mendocino County, as reported here last month.

Sheriff Briese shared that others could still be charged in this case

Sheriff Briese also detailed what led to the murder, disclosing that Bolton had received word that Pullins may have information about or been involved in the death of his older brother, James Allen, and he confronted Pullins.

“Bolton was enraged, and he made a decision to physically assault Wendy. Bolton continued to beat her until she was deceased,” stated Sheriff Briese. “Bolton wrapped up her deceased body in plastic and put it inside her red Jeep. He then drove to a remote area near Midpines in the Sierra National Forest and disposed of Wendy’s body down a steep embankment.”

What a brutal man, hope he never sees freedom again.

Yes, I read that he beat her to death because she "knew something," but I'm wondering what she knew. As in, did she ple witness a crime committed by the one brother? By two brothers? Did she know them in some way?

I hope we learn more - although this case may end in a plea bargain. Still, I hope the hearings leading up to that give the family and community more information.

This article gives detailed description of press conference.

*******
Wendy contacted her family to let them know she would be staying overnight in Mariposa. During her stay Mr. Bolton received information that he believed Wendy may have information or been involved in the death of Mr. Bolton’s older brother, James Allen. Mr. Bolton was enraged with what he believed was Wendy’s suspected involvement. At that point he decided to physically assault Wendy. He continued to beat her until she was deceased. After she was killed, Mr. Bolton wrapped up her body in plastic and put her inside of her red Jeep. At some point during the day on June 15, 2022, Mr. Bolton drove to a remote area in a location near Midpines in the Sierra National Forest and disposed of Wendy’s body down a steep embankment. He then drove the Jeep to a property in the Southern Sierra Miwok allotment land in Midpines where he left the vehicle.

Long article gives a time line of the investigation.

I grew up around Justin and his brother c and I knew James . She didn't die because she witnessed a crime. She died because unfortunately she was believed to be withholding information regarding the older brothers death , although it may not have been true , that doesn't necessarily mean that he would have been able to accept that if he would have been under the impression that she was not being honest. I feel really conflicted about this. My heart is hurting because I have always known him to be a really nice person and very fun and extremely funny.

Life took him off the course and on to some things that I know changed him and I don't believe that he would have hurt or killed anyone for any reason, unless perhaps he was not thinking right and he believed he was protecting his family or getting justice from something that caused his family great amounts of pain. I was crushed to see his face in the articles and I am still in shock. It's hard to explain why, but it's likely because of how I remember him and the amount of safety I personally felt while in his presence. I have no idea what happened to cause him to change but it must have been something because I just can't imagine him doing anything like this to another person.

I also just feel like it's worth pointing out, that I know most of his family in the place he used to live , and they are all good, honest and hard working people who have been saying that they are sincerely devastated to learn about this , and it appears to me that their apologies to her family and friends are sincere, but they have been indicative of the possibility that there's probably some further information that may come out, involving multiple other people who were either directly or indirectly involved in the situation. I believe that what they are claiming, is honest, and I don't doubt that shortly there could be something new developments.

Or, he might just say nothing and take the entire punishment for himself, since it's frowned upon around here and anywhere to talk about things that others would prefer to remain quiet about.
That's in my experience, what has gotten most people who are no longer here, in the area I grew up, to wherever they are today and when it comes down to it, it's just the same either way, if you tell on co conspirators, they'll kill you and if you don't you go to prison for the rest of your life, instead of telling the truth about who was involved and to what extent. Either way no one wins. Especially the poor lady who was probably innocent of the accusations that befell her. Probably due to some back stabbing "friends" like can be expected.

Oh man... so someone hurt the brother and blamed it on Wendy, and this guy and others went after Wendy, and he's taking the fall for it, in your opinion? That's a lot. Poor Wendy...

I am a stranger, but I hope Wendy's family can get justice soon. There's nothing I can envision that could ever warrant this level of violence, or this merciless murder!!!
People that have this much disregard for life should be removed from society quickly before anyone else gets harmed
JMO
RIP Wendy, hoping her sister and the rest of her family can find healing
