I sure wish we had answers to all of your questions.
The only thing I can think of is they saw blood when they were there to file the report? Do police usually come to the residence to take a MP report?
Could Linda have seen the blood?
Because you are right, he was an adult and only a few hours had passed. All sounds unusual
I think it's possible she did find the blood, but police didn't decide to release the information until later. This is common.

Likely
She did say that nothing looked out of place, however, given that there was police presence so early, it seems that she may have

So maybe Will is just in hiding, afraid for his life.
If that was the case...it would be easy for someone to 'disappear' him later.

Just not getting the vibes that WC walked away from his life to start a new one.
IMO

I doubt that WC is hiding. And I don't think he voluntarily left, but IDK... I think he left the house that late afternoon to go someplace. And then things went amiss. jmo, though.

I have not seen that reported ? Just his keys, wallet and jacket ?
It was in some of the previous articles and not in others.

As far as his cell phone, it was in the presser, AP said he did not have his phone with him ,If I recall correctly

ETA, yes, just listened and his sister said that Will did not have his cell phone

Did not have the cell phone with him > Or they found the cell phone in the house ?

I had not heard that!! About the blood. Was it in a recent article?

A reporter asked if LE had the blood analysis back, and LE said " No comment". they did not say "No". The blood analysis would have been back quite some time ago, jmo

Andrea Peck said he does not have his cell phone, so if they know that, I assume they found his phone at home

I am one who often preps food early.
But I don't cook it hours before we eat it, well not chicken
My husband will prep chicken hours in advance if he is making a rub or marinade (he likes to make that stuff himself) and let the meat marinade, sometimes it's hours before (he's gotten up at 3am to prep stuff for the smoker). It depends what and where he is cooking and where it is being cooked...I do not remember reading anything about food cooking anywhere or even leftovers...perhaps it was simply food prep and nothing more...and needed to be done in advance

How easy would it be to disappear
(because you want to not because you need to) without your wallet, money and car? How would someone do that?

No matter what occurred, we know blood was found at the house, at 5:06 pm a familiar SUV backed up quickly into their driveway, quickly drove left out of the driveway at 5:12 pm, and now coincidentally WC is missing. Where did the SUV go next and WHEN was the next time the SUV was accounted for? How about the nephew? What were his steps that day, and who corroborated them?

This^^ Exactly my thoughts and questions too !! Unfortunately, we have not heard anymore news from LE so we do not know what they have looked into and what they have found or not found pertaining to vehicle and nephew.

why would he voluntarily disappear? it doesn't make sense to me.
i was watching a show tonight and thought of WC. the character was saying when they are looking for someone who is trying to hide, they keep an eye on what the person likes to do because we humans can't not do what we like. hopefully the person can be found because they'll return to that desired activity. we are what we are compelled to do. i really like that :)
according to those who knew him WC was compelled to be a homebody. why would he leave?

fwiw
the show is called patriot and it's on amazon. i'm loving it.

I personally don't think he left .I think he may have gone out, maybe thinking it was just going to be for an hour or two. With either a family member or someone else. And that's when things went sideways. jmo, though.

But what about the blood?
I know there is always a chance it is unrelated but...

Good point. Although I think if the bloodstains were that significant WC would be classified as "Missing endangered " ? On the cali DOJ website his disappearance is classified as "unknown circumstances".

WC is not listed on Namus ?

Seems like there is no effort , I don't know, maybe we are just not seeing the efforts (other than private search) that are going on.

To go back to something we discussed yesterday about the MP report.
Seems LE spent a great deal of time at the property that first week
And as you said, it seems unusual for a missing adult to get that much attention within hours of disappearing, leaving home, whatever.
Makes me think that something significant was noticed
Then, I look at what has been done to follow through, and it seems like there is nothing credible to suggest a crime.
OMG, makes my head spin
