I have a question for The Mad Scientist. It was asked that someone make a map showing all the locations you mentioned earlier while searching on your own. I started working on one but stopped because you seem to be worried about someone knowing where you and others are presently searching. So I was worried that maybe it wasn't a good idea to map all the previously searched sites that were mentioned and put it on the thread since you seem concerned that others read here with a personal stake in this case.
Probably smart to ask...although the idea is usually helpful and meant with good intentions this case has been unusual. I remember someone doing a map early on but I think it may have been pulled down. 😞

Sassyblue, thank you for asking. When I started searching on my own, I wanted to let people know someone was out there with "boots on the ground" and if there were others helping search on their own, they did not have to retrace my steps. Only a couple in our daily search group even know this site exists, but as stated a number of times, we have a 2 or 3 to 1 GUEST POPULATION to those listed as members paying attention to this particular thread. WHY IS THAT? I was asked to stop posting by a much wiser person that was looking out for me. This person and 1 other person on this thread know my real name. I discouraged "the other person (do not acknowledge who you are)" from joining the search group as it MIGHT EFFECT their livelihood/career. On February 25th Saturday, when we had the community search and an infiltrator came to my field of search, that person had my car license and perhaps my real name. It took me 2 1/2 weeks to put his name on his pictures we had. This may seem like just a computer game to everyone posting, but it has become LIFE OR DEATH for me. I can't stop anyone from doing things, but would any of you first list your real full name, address, car license before making this map? I think I am going to be OK, but I am at the disadvantage to the bad guys.

Well you know what the CIA says about losing yourself in a crowd.
Wear a tall red hat and then ditch the hat. Is that the reason for your Mad Scientist outfit (red hat) and now you're just plain ol' Fred?
If not, maybe you should consider a new get up. Seriously.

RAZZ, it's always difficult to sense the true TONE of a post....so I'm chuckling somewhat. I believe I SEARED an image of myself in your memory banks....you have to be referring to the picture I posted the day "cops and flashing patrol lights" came looking for me the day I cleared Grace Community Church property. That was a picture of me perhaps in 2002 while at Bandimere Speedway in Denver, Colo. when we all had money and I put kids into Jr. Dragsters that would never have that opportunity. I really do blend into a crowd....envision an old fart that is 1 walker short of an escapee from a senior assisted living facility.

It is amazing you put the children into the Jr. Dragsters! My husband drag races, so I know how expensive that can be and for you to give children that would never have that opportunity if it were not for you and your friends, is absolutely great! Thank you for having such a caring heart for them and for the search for William.

No this would be a map based solely of the locations the Mad Scientist searched on his own before he stopped posting his search locations due to unknown threats from the thread guest readers. I didn't really get an answer so I am thinking I shouldn't post it. Gigtu had asked for someone to do it but haven't seen her for awhile so I will be happy to shelve that project.

Edited to add I've actually been reading Websleuths for many, many years as a guest only with no ill intentions towards anyone on any case whatsoever. Was a member of Hinky Meter from its inception and then finally signed up here awhile after the demise of the Hinky Meter. Not all guests have ill intents but are readers with no intention of commenting for one reason or another. So for what its worth the math of registered members to guests doesn't necessarily mean bad people are in our midst. IMHO

The only problem I see with this logic is that we're actively searching for evidence which may stand to alter the freedom of someone local... And a simple googling serves up this forum, chock full of very specific info...
A defense, an out, a hail Mary, anything may come out of someone we don't even know is lurking.
Mad scientist is doing it right.
There's a few of us who really do have to be worried for our safety. The potential for harm is real.

I love that you guys still keep Will alive and current.
I wish some of you locals would come stomp around in the snake pits with us.
Good times!

Our info only comes from MSM and it ain't much. No worries anything here will hinder a prosecution. Wish we could do more to keep Will alive and current but without anything new and no POI there's nothing we can do but hash over limited info over and over.

I'm from 1000 Oaks and Whitney Canyon was one of my playgrounds. I still have the skin of the 6 foot rattler I shot there myself hanging on a wall in my house. I would be glad to stomp around in those snake pits with you once again but unfortunately my husband dragged me to Idaho kicking and screaming and I'm still here despite my best efforts to get home again.

Good luck in your searches. I hope you find Will but I would prefer him to be alive.

Hopefully I will be healthy, back to driving more than 5 miles from home by myself lol, and done with UCLA and then I can be (in this order) 1. Normal mom again, and 2. meeting up and joining with some searches (like I did way back when...just not in WS)

I joined just to see the pics! And now they are gone [emoji22]. But I want TMS to be safe too and to bring William home. I just knew he would be the one to do it. Lurking from far away.

It's possible to make this forum private. just ask one of the mods here. that way only members of WS can access it. just a thought.

There is a picture of the roll over, lights flashing, the old fart escapee with his shovel, that would have shown the type of terrain we are dealing with, photo taken in the middle of 3 grieving out loud thinking Will was found....BUT ONCE AGAIN, it shows my "mobile trash can" with it's license plate perfectly visible.

FOR THE RECORD: When the group does find Will, this is like the Bin Laden case....IT ISN'T ABOUT INDIVIDUALS, THE GROUP WILL HAVE FOUND WILL. No one outside will be told an individuals name...only our group name will be printed and we do have one.

Liz b. no need to make this private, secret....we have too much time invested now to give up anything of substance.

My suggestion was in response to posters who were concerned about the possible evidentiary findings, I think. I have never known that to actually impact a case/trial, but who knows ?

Not only that and maybe I have misunderstood, but aren't there some suspected lurkers who may be connected to this case and no
one wants to let these "bad guys, people, lurkers etc" know what is happening in this case.

I was thinking of this earlier, and get concerned when I see what I think are people posting real pics of themselves for their avatar. Just raises privacy concerns and potentially safety issues IMO. Please be careful everyone.
