Not only that and maybe I have misunderstood, but aren't there some suspected lurkers who may be connected to this case and no
one wants to let these "bad guys, people, lurkers etc" know what is happening in this case.

Sure. I have known that to happen, and sometimes they will post too. But, as far as them finding anything out, LE, and really only LE knows what's happening, or not happening with this or any case. That being said, were I local I would keep a low profile. JMO, though...

That's just it...I fear for Mad Scientist and the others. Are there really people out there trying to get them?! Or am I misunderstanding some of the posts? Because I read it as youngsters and adults are not happy with their group. ???

I was thinking of this earlier, and get concerned when I see what I think are people posting real pics of themselves for their avatar. Just raises privacy concerns and potentially safety issues IMO. Please be careful everyone.
I have been involved in this kind of stuff for awhile...and before joining WS a few months ago I can say from a safety standpoint you never know who is lurking. I have a generic avatar, email, FB, I use just because I value my privacy but more importantly my families. I know it is easy to track stuff down online, and my family's privacy is the most important. Just be careful about what you post as well and how revealing you are about personal information. You never know who is reading.

Good point. I wanted to add that using a form of your real name as your screen name, as well as talking about things you've posted on Next-door (which displays your name AND address, unless you change your settings), are revealing and potentially dangerous. I've seen both done on this thread and have notified the mods, but I am not sure if anything was done. SCV is a small town. Unfortunately not small enough to find Will (yet). Stay safe!!

Obviously im guilty of that. When I joined websleuths I didnt intend for my screen name to be my name. I wonder how I can change it.

IDK, my experience with other cases here has been people who will sometimes troll and post. They often attempt to sway the opinions of posters, and generally cause dissension. It's not hard to spot such posters. Sometimes they seem to know the POI or suspect in a case. I can't say what's happening locally. I know LE has not named a suspect or POI at this time. jmo

If you are local, odds are good that you know exactly who the POI is.
It's become clear to us "feets on the ground" that he knows who he is too.
For this reason, amongst so many others, is ground pounders are being tight lipped and over cautious.
TMS is a hoot, and we are eternally grateful for his contributions daily.
We're at a strange intersection right now.
With so many environmental hazards, and pouring eyes, we're just being even more cautious and methodical.
This has forever forged us as family.
And all of us crazy relatives don't question the paranoia that outsiders often point and stare at.

Since there's so many comments about lurkers, I went ahead and joined websleuths. I have been following along here since the beginning, so I know I've been adding to those numbers. I'm local to scv too. Will's case has bothered me since I first read about it. I wish I could go out and help search, but I have a 2 month baby, so my support is in spirit only! I'm glad that it seems there is much more known about what happened to Will than we all originally thought.

Welcome! So glad you decided to join. Congrats on your little one, I too am local and home with a 3 month old. Its hard not being able to physically go out and search but I believe being on here keeping Will in peoples minds is a form of helping. Glad to have you.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand your post. What are "pouring eyes " ? Also, who are the "outsiders " who are pointing and staring ? TIA.

Going to take a guess at this :
"pouring eyes" might mean "poring eyes" ---as in 'gazing intensely' , or looking intently.
As in : "...We spent hours poring intently over the documents..."

Maybe the poster meant "outsiders" as in those of us who are discussing this disappearance (if that is what it really is) of Will. Maybe they meant 'pointing and staring' in reference to this discussion ?

Although I'd hardly classify this thread as "paranoia" in any sense of the word !!

More like , 'concern' and 'caring'.
I truly feel compassion for those who care about Will and just want him back !!!

Another take on the paranoia and poring eyes might be in reference to the relatives and friends of the perp who, for some strange reason, are unahappy with the search efforts.

If true this is strange, and highly concerning. I think most posters here came to the same conclusion when we first read about Mr. Cierzan's disappearance. Back on the first two pages many posters zeroed in on a particular person. I hope that LE is being updated if local people are being made uneasy by others there. However, for myself, I would prefer not to label anyone a "perp" until LE has done so, but that's jmo. What specifically has happened that makes you think some are "unhappy" with the searches ? TIA

Read Mad Dog's posts! His wariness of the searching situation began shortly after he searched somewhere near someone's house.

I hope he went straight to LE if he felt intimidated because of this. jmo

Pouring eyes... Really should have said "peering eyes".
People behind a screen who are lurking may or may not be connected to this case.
Due to the unknown circumstances behind Will's disappearance, but understanding that foul play may have a role in all of this, it just just makes sense that searchers would need to be extra cautious.
We're not looking for trouble, we're doing our best to mitigate any potential dangers.
I'm not in the habit the habit of being paranoid, or super judgmental. In this case, I've made it abundantly clear that we aren't investigating, or trying to one up law enforcement. We really are just out searching for Will, hoping for the best, and being realistic about what may turn up.
Like I've always said, anyone is welcome to pm me.
I've always been tight lipped in the interest of safety and case preservation

Thank you OGMaDeuce for searching for Will, and for weighing in here. You are much appreciated.
