I attend this case and 3 others at San Fernando Courthouse. As I am typing this Tuesday March 23rd, I would have been inside Dept. "G" which is labeled "resetting/prelim" BUT, after being kept from entering 3 previous trial days, I called this department yesterday and the LASD inside the court and I was told that I needed to be subpoenaed or the suspect / lawyer....myself and 2 other prior attendees are not there today. There is an additional date of May 3rd 9:00 am shown as Prelim Hearing. I will go down there hoping OUR CIVIL LIBERTIES WILL BE RESTORED....forgot to answer a couple of your questions....his bail is still $2 million and no one will throw their $200,000 cash in the trash, so he's still in lock up. Also, if you "hippylove" have found case #PA095020 on lacourt.org and are only looking at "case information", choose the box next to it "events" for additional information

This came out today Thursday march 25th from the local newspaper online The Signal:

Daniel Cierzan, 25, was arrested on July 31 of last year after investigators announced their belief that he had been responsible for the disappearance of William Cierzan in 2017.

Cierzan is set to return to court on May 3 for a preliminary hearing. At the preliminary hearing, the evidence is presented, and a judge decides whether there’s enough for trial.

The defendant’s uncle was reportedly last seen four years ago on the afternoon of Jan. 26 watching golf with his nephew on Cuatro Milpas Street, near Seco Canyon Road, investigators said.

At about 7 p.m., Linda Cierzan, William’s wife, arrived home and found the chicken cooked. Her husband’s wallet, keys and coat were in the house, as well as his blood.

Daniel Cierzan was with William at the time of his disappearance because the two were very close, said Will’s older sister Andrea Peck, noting that Will was excited about upcoming plans he was making for a 21st birthday celebration on his nephew’s behalf.

William Cierzan was working at Six Flags Magic Mountain at the time of his disappearance.

I think I have heard the same claims...historically that seems to be the defense when there really isn't one. Kind of hard to prove otherwise right?

Exactly.

I guess he is being housed at Pitchess; gotta be a strange feeling being locked up for a murder charge when you can see your neighborhood from the exercise yard.

This copy and paste was actually for me....details become so important for each of the cases I follow and attend. Looking at the date showing 4-12-2021, I had to go back to check as I'm pretty sure Daniel had been in Men's Central Jail, downtown L.A. since his arrest....good job "661 Rider". I am fighting to have court reopened so any of us can attend. I too am curious about the evidence that will be provided on May 3rd that will then be "public information" that can be discussed.

This NCCF is for the worse of the worse within L.A. County. In June 2019, 20 of us living in Santa Clarita, vetted regarding our own records were selected to attend an 8 week course "Community Academy" at our LASD station. We were 8 men and 12 women. This facility was 1 of those days, The main hallway was 1/4 mile in length, a number of cell blocks with LASD monitoring cameras and communication, "pie shaped multi-level cells" housing approx. 64 in each totaling 4,000 inmates within the building. For those deputies on graveyard shift required to go inside each cell and touch an inmate to make sure they are alive, they will walk 8 miles on their shift.

Today Friday April 30, I went down to court for a child molestation case I have been attending for 2 years just to see if I can get into court Monday May 3rd. NO CHANCE THESE DAYS, but I was given a memo from the court that will allow any of us to hear the proceedings RAAP (remote audio appearance program). You have to sign up using your email, first and last name, create a display name, password with caps, symbols, numbers. I have done all of this, expecting an email link monday morning to click on. I have reason to believe this might be a short hearing and put off to sometime in the summer. They have stated that ONLY IF YOU DON'T HAVE A SMART PHONE, TABLET OR COMPUTER SYSTEM do they have a couple of seats in the courthouse, but that would take request submitted, judge to authorize you to have a seat and none of that will happen before monday may 3rd.

Monday May 3, 2021, I log into my newly set up LACOURT dot ORG account as instructed, it shows me in the Dept. "G" queue for remote audio for Daniel Cierzan #PA095020, starting at 8:30 am I click on the "play arrow" and the words "this stream is not available". I click on this every 2 or 3 minutes until 2:10 pm when I have had enough and call the court clerk. "OH YES, THAT CASE WAS HEARD FIRST THING THIS MORNING". Is there anything else I should have done to participate REMOTELY? "I didn't get any notification to turn the live feed on"....THEN YOUR SYSTEM IS BROKEN. This case has been pushed forward to June 4th.

The best I can expect if the clerk ever flicks the switch is AUDIO...I am still fighting to OPEN UP THE COURTS....forgot to answer your question, still waiting for the pre-trial to at least know what cards are going to be played.

WE THE PEOPLE are having our CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS removed concerning attending specific court cases and NOW, REMOTE AUDIO REQUESTS FOR CRIMINAL COURT CASES IS NO LONGER AN OPTION FOR SELECTING THE SPECIFIC CASE TO LISTEN TO....THIS WEEK, THE LINK TO MAKE MY REQUEST FOR ANY CASE NO LONGER ALLOWS CRIMINAL CASES AND IT SPECIFICALLY STATES THAT THE NEW LACC SYSTEM IS NOT FOR NEWS MEDIA AND GENERAL PUBLIC.

Wednesday May 26th was my last remote audio case granted and confirmed via email. Yesterday Thursday May 27th, I wanted to select a case to be heard (now) Friday May 28th, but the CRIMINAL cases have been removed from selection..

I have already made a formal written request to attend the Daniel Cierzan hearing June 4th in Dept. "G", but the probability to deny this request is HIGH.

Yesterday, I went over to THE SIGNAL office to bring this to the papers attention, but the EDITOR has been RETIRED. I am now organizing an email to the person that oversees all operations....

BOOM!!!! I received an email granting my 1 seat request TO ATTEND INSIDE DEPT."G". Lots of additional rules, but I can do all of them. I sure hope this becomes the PRE-TRIAL.

June 4, 2021, I was the first in line to enter the courthouse. I did have an acceptable authorization letter from the court to be allowed to enter the courthouse, courtroom, was verified by a D.A. person vetting each person for each case being heard in Dept. "G". Chuck Cierzan was there because he had been verbally given a subpoena by the Judge in January 21, 2021. Daniel was brought out of lockup as this first case was called. He does now have a private attorney and no longer the Public Defender. Today the Preliminary Trial date was set (called the GO DATE) to July 6, 2021 which the Major Crimes D.A. Tannaz Mokayef requested 2 days. This will be where enough evidence should be presented to see if the actual trial can happen. The Judge once again verbally gave Chuck Cierzan a subpoena to be there. Upon leaving the courtroom, I had the opportunity to speak to this D.A. and present what the court has done to limit public participation, she had no idea. She had no idea the court removed the "CRIMINAL" cases from being a "remote audio" option.

661 Rider, I like the way you are thinking, but Chuck would have been picked up by another team on 7-31-2020 at the same time that Daniel was. I might have the only seat given out to the public. I know of 2 females that have NOT had any response to their request, I know that 1 writer & 1 retired editor from The Signal are wondering whether they will get into court to cover this Preliminary Hearing as it is a BIG STORY for Santa Clarita. I was drawn to return to the field I've been to 4 previous times, last time was the community search on Feb. 25, 2017 with 20 vetted people, on Tuesday June 22, 2021. The entire field had been scraped of any vegetation approx. 3" maximum deep which filled up most of the small low places. In my entire life, I have never seen so many red ants crawling ever inch and a nest approx. every 10 feet. I had to keep moving while looking for evidence which includes fabric. 4 years ago, this field was totally filled with vegetation from ankle, waist, chest high making it so much more difficult to spot anything. My seat permit is printed out and will be first in line once again.

Last week, we are NO LONGER REQUIRED TO SUBMIT A REQUEST TO ATTEND, but their people didn't tell my people until today. Today was day 1 Tuesday 7-6-2021 starting in dept. "G", then we were waiting for a courtroom to be available for this case to be moved to hear the Preliminary Hearing. Because of legal protocol, the D.A. needed to go on the record in "G" to offer Chuck Cierzan an Immunity Agreement. We were to now move to Dept. "F". In attendance, Chuck Cierzan & Tabitha Smith, Andrea & her husband, Linda Cierzan, 1 female from SCV. Daniel has 2 lawyers from the same firm, Chuck has 1 lawyer. Motion concerning "Marcy's Law" where those testifying at trial cannot be in court during the entire hearing, Chuck & Linda were being discussed. For legal statute, Linda was allowed to remain in court once she was on the stand, but Chuck was not allowed. First expert needed to catch a plane, he was a cellphone pattern analyzer. Every combination of which device called a different device, within 150 meters of actual location (NOT ALL phone companies are technically equal). Linda was next and answered questions. Upon cross examination, it's just wrong to ask why Linda didn't see THIS AND THAT the first night that has nothing to do with defending Daniel...MOO. Then the Blood Splatter Analyzer is in the middle of hundreds of photos, detailing the types and sizes of spots and what they mean. He will return tomorrow, court continues at 10:30 am dept. "F" Judge Walgren, Chuck's atty. has a different event and won't be here until 1:30 pm right after lunch break. Not going to give a list of the MINUTIAE to guess on the importance, but I will tease you with blood on the pack of flip-top cigarette's sitting in the front seat of the 4 runner. Also blood on the floor behind the 2 rear wheel-wells inside the cargo portion of the vehicle. Sounded like during a possible clean-up, blood residue splattered up on the inside window.
