:tears: I'm watching this live now. The video of the horse running, trying to get away is agonizing.

Seems like they may be okay. I hope. Human Society has sent help to handle livestock where they can reach safely, sounds like.

Well crap, I was out for a few hours only to see a couple more have ingnited. From. byo's link above re: the lilac fire:

"A brush fire that sparked alongside a North County highway interchange took off in extreme fire conditions, scorching thousands of acres and prompting Gov. Jerry Brown to declare a state of emergency Thursday.

The Lilac Fire, as it's been named by Cal Fire officials, has grown to 2,500 acres west of southbound Interstate 15 and south of State Route 76 and has threatened about 1,000 structures.

California Gov. Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency for San Diego County Thursday, freeing up federal resources as crews battle the fast-moving blaze. The county had declared a state of emergency earlier in the day."

Murrieta Mesa High School, located at 24801 Monroe St. in Murrieta

A second fire was also reported in the area of Guava Street and Hayes Avenue, the Murrieta Police Department said after 2 p.m. It’s not clear what happened with the blaze."

Not this time! So far, anyway. I'm just worried about my neighbors to the north!

(What about now? How close are you to the new Lilac fire?)
