Sounds like firefighters are making steady progress up there! I heard on the radio (KFI, Los Angeles) this morning that authorities expect the Thomas fire to be 100% "contained" by the first of the year. That seems like an awfully long time out to me! I had never even heard of "containing" a fire before the Cedar fire, and I am still just flabbergasted by the very idea. I mean, if it's on fire, you put it out, right? But infernos like these are truly forces of nature, on the same scale as hurricanes and earthquakes and hundred-year floods. Seen in that light, containment is rather a miracle.
Sending love and light to my friends in harm's way. Be careful, and stay safe!
