Some parents however questioned whether the school overstepped its bounds by disciplining students for actions that occurred on personal computers, at home and after school hours.

I bet these same parents would sue big time if their child was the victim of a hate crime if the school had knowledge prior but did nothing about it because it happened off school campus and after school hours.
