I teach high school, and one thing I have learned from the youngsters is that most have two very separate personas. For example, most of them have two social media accounts - one where they post their "nice" stuff and one where they post their "real" stuff - it used to be called a "finsta" or "fake Instagram" account, and they would make it private and only invite their closest friends. Along with these accounts, they develop a persona that is "the real them." So you cannot look at this particular case without asking yourself why a 19-year-old girl was going outside in the morning while her mother was still asleep, not taking her phone. Was she going out to find a vape in her car? Was she going out to meet someone who would deliver something to her? Was she trying to find her Air Pods? She purposefully left her phone behind, so it was something quick and private. She had on pajama shorts and more than likely a pajama top under the sweatshirt - the temp at 7 a.m. that morning was upper 60's and she had on shoes - but what kind? Slides? Sneakers? House shoes? Every piece of the overall story is a story within itself. Logically, here is where I would go with it if I were LE:
- Talk to friends and find out if she had a spam or finsta account
- Pull her bank records and look for regular withdrawals of cash
- Pull her class list from where she went to school and see if any of her classmates lived nearby
- Find out if she had dropped or switched out of classes later into the semester
- Do a neighborhood sweep and check for other ring cameras in the area
- If they can find a hair of hers with a follicle, they can run tox on the follicle to find out if she was using anything recreationally or had tried something recreationally recently.
Please know that none of these things are suggested with malice or accusation toward Camilla. Young ladies get in over their heads very quickly and often find themselves living in duplicity without realizing how dangerous it can be. Prayers to the family and prayers of protection and strength for Camilla.
